    Another great story!

Ever since book 1 I knew Sebastian deserved his own story. A good one too! Loved it. I really want to move to Nocturne Falls!

The Vampire's Fake Fiancé by Kristen Painter

The Vampire's Fake Fiancé by Kristen Painter Light-hearted paranormal romance series that takes place in Nocturne Falls. It's a town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year so that the vampires, witches, goblins and others can live openly in public. This is the fifth book in the series (plus a couple of novellas) and Sebastian's story. Poor Sebastian. He's been waiting on his wife to reappear after three hundred years of her flitting around the world and he has closed himself off to family and friends. He doesn't even like his estranged wife. But he made a promise to protect her. Tessa Blythe is a Valkyrie hiding from herself. She's made a career as a librarian and sworn never to draw her sword again in anger. I really liked these two together. They both love books (who doesn't?) and control. They have an instant empathy for each other and pretending to be engaged lets them get to know each other better. I was a little worried towards the end, but shouldn't have been. Perfect. I love humor in my reading. This book and series is well done and entertains throughout. A+. A short conversation between Tessa and her sister: “You probably don’t even remember how to swing your sword, do you?” “I do.” Probably. “I chose not to.” Or ever again, actually. At the thought of her sword, a small trill of energy zipped down her spine. She ignored it. Like she always did. Excerpt From: Painter, Kristen. “The Vampire's Fake Fiancee.” And a sentence I found fascinating, that didn't really have anything to do with the story or what was going on, but a good example of the writing depth of the author. “Julian swirled his glass, turning the amber liquid within into a miniature cyclone.” Excerpt From: Painter, Kristen. “The Vampire's Fake Fiancee.”

    The Vampire's Fake Fiancee

Continuing the Nocturne Falls series. Author does a great job in keeping the characters interwoven. Good read.

    The series stays great!

Finally Sebastian gets some happiness! He is introverted and so is the new librarian/valkyrie. The nasty vampire he married centuries ago is in town, just as mean and nasty as ever. The story is good, engrossing, and fun. Glad to have read this installment! See publisher's blurb for more clues to plot.
