    Loved it!

Vampire's Masquerade is the 5th book in the Creatures of Darkness series and a follow up to Keeping his Siren. Lex and Kasima meet at the Ever Nights club and it's instant attraction - what is initially meant to be a one night stand turns into a steamy affair with a bit of a surprise ending. It was nice to be reacquainted with the rest of the Ever Nights characters and I hope to see more of their stories.

I was completely sucked in and yes pun intended !

The author returns to her Creatures of Darkness/ Evernight Chronicles world where Vampires are loud and proud after a dreadful war that decimated the world. In fact although this book works as a standalone it does return readers to those we met in Keeping His Siren although this time it's very much a human heroine that steps up to claim her Vampire ! Kasima meets Lex on a night out that shows her just what a sleezebag her boyfriend Brian really is. I can understand a commitment phobia but taking Kasima to a club and saying let's each have a free pass and pick someone else up before we get too serious really should have woken up her self respect ! Luckily Kasima rather than sitting drowning her sorrows ends up next to a Vampire who is both charming and respectful. Lex is every adjective a girl dreams of tall, dark, sexy and sizzling hot ! Ok he doesn't want forever but with the chemistry they share Kasima would be crazy not to jump his bones but oddly it's a night that Lex seems to want to keep repeating or does he ? Ok this was one very steamy read with Lex appearing more like a Knight in shining armour than a nasty blood sucker. I actually kept waiting for some suspense or action to happen and eventually realised that the author wasn't taking her readers down that route and instead it was all about Lex and Kasima learning to trust their feelings for each other. There was a surprise at the end with a twist I hadn't seen coming and I'm left hoping the author will return to this world soon.

    Masquerade

Kiersten's new book is awesome. Each story in this series are great but this is my favourite of them all. Well written with great characters and a story line to match. Kasima and Lex are perfect for each other. Meeting by chance at a Masquerade ball Lex saves Kasima from a guest. Their attraction is red hot and wild. The only downside of their love is that Kasima's ex wants revenge will they both be able to beat her ex and stay together? Grab a copy to find out. I voluntarily reviewed a reader copy from the author

    I absolutely, positively LOVED it!

Wow, it has been so long since I’ve read Kiersten Fay and I can’t believe that I haven’t picked her up again sooner since I loved her Shadow Quest series so much, but now that I’ve read The Vampire’s Masquerade, I excited to read more! This book though, was sooooooo gooooood — I absolutely, positively LOVED it! I’ve been in such a book funk for awhile, but The Vampire’s Masquerade kept my attention the whole through — I never wanted to put it down. I wanted to get back to it whenever I did have to though and there was more than one time when I continued reading when I needed to stop because... life. So it’s safe to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The Vampire’s Masquerade was exciting, steamy, and entertaining. It squeezed my heart, made me rant a little and shake my head, and it made me laugh a lot. It was such a fun, heart pounding story and I can’t wait to read the rest of the Creatures Of Darkness books!
