    Feisty, laugh out loud book!

I love the characters in this book. I love Sophie kinsella has her humorous style but have read them all. This was an alternative... But now I, hooked. I loved everything about it from her humour, plot and twists and turn definitely worth a read. I'm looking at her other books now!

    A wickedly funny romance

I bought this as I couldn't find anything else I really wanted to read and I was desperate for a new book. Jessica Beam is not your average leading lady for a romantic novel, she would sleep with anyone, doesn't care what she does and loves to party. Until she goes to London to seek out her Grandmother after making a total fool of herself at a party and having a huge fight with her best friend and housemate Summer and ending up homeless. Her Grandmother, Matilda Beam, turns out to be a writer of a series of books (guides to love and romance, 1955) and ready to be thrown out of her flat due to unpaid bills. With the aid of these guides her Grandmother and her helper, Peach, and a highly acclaimed publisher decide to set the task of turning Jess into a Socialite and girlfriend to the mega-rich Leo who she despises to prove the guides written in 1955 will work for a modern day girl and will bring some well needed money to both Jess and Matilda. At first I thought another load of fluff and Jess would irritate me, but it had me laughing out loud on the metro (much to my embarrassment). Jess is a punchy and fresh character and quite frankly one of my all-time favourite's and I read it all too quickly. Along with the other characters in the book it makes for an hilarious updated take on romance novels. I would highly recommend this to anyone, especially those who enjoyed Bridget Jones.
