    3.5 STARS

The whole forbidden romance aspect of “The Virgin and the Rogue” really did it for me with this one. I was expecting something overly cheesy, overused, and played out yet I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked Charlie and Samuel’s relationship and intense connection they shared alongside the oh so hot steamy moments they had throughout the entire series. Like typical romances, of course drama ensues when Charlotte tries to fight off her attraction with the rake when it’s revealed she betrothed to a childhood friend but that all changes in an instant when she takes a elixir created by her sister that will forever change the course of their relationship forever. This is the perfect combination for any reader looking for romance, steamy moments, opposites attract forbidden historical romance.

    Wonderfully Bonkers, Great Escape Read

I received an ARC of this book to read through Edelweiss+ in exchange for a fair review. The Virgin and the Rogue by Sophie Jordan is the sixth book her The Rogue Files Series. I would suggest at a minimum reading book five The Duke’s Stolen Bride before reading this one because it gives background information about the heroine in this book that I think is essential in understanding her feelings and some of her actions. The first thing you need to know about this book is that it’s slightly bonkers in the most wonderful way, and if you are looking for an escape read, this one would be an excellent choice. Charlotte Langley just wants to be safe and secure she doesn’t want passion, her life has been through several upheavals, and she just wants a quiet existence with no ups and no downs, and plans to marry her very staid childhood sweetheart. Seeking an escape from the terrible cramps she gets each month she downs a remedy prepared for her by her sister and experiences some extreme side effects. Charlotte comes to believe that this version of the potion is an aphrodisiac after she more or less attacks her brother-in-law’s visiting step-brother Samuel Kingston. Strongly affected by his mother’s illness, Kingston is taking a break from his usual debauched lifestyle and not quite sure what it is he is looking for, having a lovely virgin crawling all over him is certainly not what he expected. Watching these two seemingly opposites find their way to each other is delightful, and I enjoyed this book very much, devouring it in one day and then going back to reread it one more time. The Virgin and The Rogue

The Virgin and The Rogue was cute, sweet and dirty. I enjoyed these characters, Kingston and Charlotte and their journey quite a lot. I loved watching Charlotte move from meek to bold as well as watching Kingston being undone by her, falling in love with her. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the previous books as well as the next book in the series. I definitely recommend it.

    Fantastic Historical Romance

The Virgin And The Rogue is a phenomenal historical romance by Sophie Jordan. Ms. Jordan has brought readers a well-written book and furnished it with a cast of characters that is top-notch. Charlotte lives with her sister and brother-in-law but is fianced to a dull local man. She's looking forward to marriage and moving back into her old home. Samuel felt unwanted at his step-brother's home but he wanted to be away from his friends and left alone. He was surprised on his arrival to find his brother wed with his wife's sisters living with him. Samuel and Charlotte's story is a fun read with plenty of drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I loved this book! I look forward to reading more from Sophie Jordan soon. The Virgin And The Rogue is book 6 of The Rogue Files Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
