  • Brothers Who Love And Care Fiercely

I love anything by Lori Foster and she has yet to disappoint me. I was hanging on to this book for a long time, because I wanted to enjoy my read. So glad, I started it in a summer month, because it is HOT! These books were first published in 2003 and 2004 as novellas with other authors, and then they had their own book "The Watson Brothers" with each brother's story in one compendium. I am providing the review for each individual story, which was a good size and fulfilled all my requirements for a good tale. ********************************************** 1. "My House, My Rules" - Rating 5/5 Eldest Brother and Police Officer, Sam Watson has always been the responsible and dependable one for the Watson clan. However, his caring and protective nature also spills into his work and towards his small town community. There is one thing that he wants and that is his youngest brother's friend, Ariel Mathers. But she is an innocent and quite out of his league due to her age. A little chauvinistic but maybe there is someone who will open his heart to the possibilities. Beautician Ariel Mathers is trying hard to figure out her feelings and options. She has come to a stunning conclusion that Sam Watson is it for her. Regardless of his bluster and bluntness, he is a good man and who would never hurt her. Still, there is a part of her that is afraid of the rejection and disregard, especially when he constantly reminds her of her youth and size. However she is going to woman up and be honest about her feelings. consequences are welcomed! There were some hot, passionate, and sexy scenes that were thoroughly enjoyable. The character development was limited but the reader had a sense of what it was all about. If you love the older-younger trope, with interfering family, some action and laugh out loud moments, then this is a fun read! 2. "Bringing Up Baby" - Rating 5/5 Middle Brother and Family Business Owner, Gil Watson is the staid and sophisticated one in the family who handles his responsibilities without complaints. An unexpected situation but a surprise, has left him torn, in guilt and excited as well. However, he is unsure of what will happen next and/or if he can even handle this new complication. But what happens in reality is about to change his existence and his life for the better, if he opens his heart and mind. Web Designer and Free Spirit Anabel Truman, is an unexpected breath of fresh air and has an even bigger heart. Most of her life people have underestimated her due to her appearance and persona, but it has never mattered to her. Nevertheless, with her added duties, circumstances are different for her now. She will do anything to ensure the safety and well-being of her charge, even if it means making a deal with the devil. Yet there is a chance, that things might work out for the best, and all her dreams could come true, if she let's them! The story of Gil and Anabel was heartfelt and had a lot of nuances and difficulties. If you are fan of the unknown baby trope with some added dimensions, lots of cuteness, funny occurrences, and hot, heavy and unique passionate love making, you will enjoy this book! 3. "Good With His Hands" - Rating 5/5 Happy Go Lucky Pete Watson, had goals when he was younger. But after a certain loss, things fell out of order and he is still trying to find himself. Although, when it comes to the ladies, Pete knows his type and never lacks for their company. However, lately he is finding himself unsatisfied and mostly bored. It is so unlike what he experiences in the presence of his best friend, where he is comfortable, they can talk about anything and he has fun. Now if only he was attracted to her, things would be different. Goal Oriented Cassidy "Cass" McClannahan knows what she wants and she has plans for everything in her life. She has always been the au naturel female and doesn't enjoy the glamour and make-up. But lately, she is thinking that a change might be in order. Especially considering how she has started reacting to a certain next door neighbour and her best friend. Maybe if she made an effort, he might be attracted to her. However, little does she know that people accept and adore her for who she really is... This was a great story about how notions and pre-suppositions are not what we need or even want in reality. That sometimes, letting thing fall into place naturally, is a much better option. I still loved my read, but there were some minor obstacles for me regarding Cassidy's description of her tomboy traits and personality. But the authoress, salvaged the story with what happened next. Again, hot and heavy scenes, laughter, interfering family members and a theme of growth as well as acceptance had me hooked! ********************************************** Overall, with the three novellas that are sort of linked and cover the escapades of three brothers in love, I enjoyed my reading ride immensely!
