    Amazing writing

I've read The Wedding Dress, The Wedding Chapel and now The Wedding Shop. Each told a wonderful story of love, hope, faith and new beginnings. God speaks to us today and He spoke to the characters in this book. Rachel Hauck writes in such a way that you feel like you are there and the characters could be friends of yours. I enjoyed the going back and forth from Cora the owner of the wedding shop from the 1920s on till the 1950s, to Haley, present day that felt a pull to restore and open the shop back up in spite of obstacles in her way. Her childhood friend Tammy, and she had made a pinky swear that they would purchase and open the wedding shop when they were grown. Years later when Tammy passes on unexpectedly, Haley is more determined than ever to follow through with their dream. Finances, town council, especially the mayor, and a company wanting to purchase the land for a lot more than it's worth to make a parking lot where the shop stands all cause problems and frustration for Haley. Follow her and her friend Cole as they work together and see the miracles God has for them along the way. I received this ebook from the publisher through Net Galley for my honest opinion, which I have given.

    Do dreams really come true

The Wedding Shop by Rachel Hauck although third in a series with The Wedding Dress and The Wedding Chapel preceding this one, is easily a stand alone book. Cora and Haley are two of the main characters and readers follow their parallel lives through the connection of the wedding shop. Haley is the contemporary character and she is trying to fulfill a childhood dream, one she pinky promise shared with her best friend, to reopen the shop. Can she even buy the shop or will it be razed for a parking lot? Can she raise the money she needs? And just what is in the locked room? The author does a great job of keeping interest as she goes back and forth through time to tell the stories of Cora and Haley's and the men in their lives. The characters are strong and realistic, the story flows well with a few twists and turns and revelations of secrets long held. Faith in God to work thing out, forgiveness and restoration are key themes throughout the story. I look forward to reading the other books in this series. I borrowed a copy of the book from the public library.
