    The Wicked North

Not a good title to describe the war between the North and the Southern states. It could discourage some readers

    The Wicked North

A great tale set in the American Civil War in particular the south and the keeping of Slaves.

Deceit, treachery, misunderstandings and enduring love

So much detail, so many misunderstandings, and yet through it all Jack and Emma manage to survive against all the odds against them. I now have some understanding of the difficulties for men like Jack, born in the South but with loyalty to the nation. As in all wars there are both men of excellence and men of stupidity in command who cost men's lives. Women had to be strong in character, as so many men thought that women were a convenience. A fascinating glimpse into history with a strong story to tie it all together.
