  • surprising and innovative

It took me about 5 pages to fall completely into the world of the Alleshi and the Allemen, a culture of peace based on mutual advantage, at a time when it is coming under attack from an unknowable and very deadly enemy. The story is skillfully told, with strongly developed characters and reveals slowly the layers upon layers of politicking and influence that serve to uphold the Peace as they are uncovered by the protagonists. It is an epic tale about very human (and therefore flawed) people in a time of crisis. I am excited to see that there is another book coming from this author. I just want to see what happens next.

    Thanks for your feedback!
