  • Great story of a lost heroine

We have all heard about Alan Turing, Bletchley Park and the breaking of the Enigma code. Who knew that, all this time, we had a true heroine of code breaking right here under our noses? This book tells one amazing story about Elizabeth Friedman after another. The Brits weren’t the only ones to break the Enigma codes...Elizabeth Friedman did, too. I’m so glad that the story of this amazing woman has finally been brought out of the shadows.

  • Fascinating story!

The story of this married couple and their unique talents during prohibition and wartime has great relevance to understanding today's world. So glad the author took the time to capture their story. Especially true for the wife's story and how it compares to women's work life today.

  • Excellent and amazing story

Well worth reading. Another woman who worked so hard without getting her due credit.

  • Szemmsyf

This should be required read when studying 20th century. You can read about the extent the fascists went to take over the free world. .and how American government got in its own way.. The story of the Friedmsans is well documented here. I enjoyed javing known historical events for time comparison.
