It doesn't get any hotter than this!

3.5/4 Stars | Hot Steam A compelling must-read for Tessa Bailey fans, River and Vaughn’s passionate reconciliation is no doubt, currently burning up thousands of e-readers across the globe. For curious new readers who are unfamiliar with the brilliant Ms. Bailey and her uncanny ability to consistently deliver the most scorching, satisfying, and unforgettable stories in contemporary romance today, you are in for a life-altering treat! Powerfully intense, emotional, redemptive, and more fabulously filthy than ever before, THROWN DOWN couldn’t get any hotter if it was released on the sun! Having met and liked River in CRASHED OUT, the first explosive novel in the Made in Jersey series, I couldn’t wait for her story to be told. Overworked, overburdened, and severely stressed out, that tireless single mother was in dire need of a miraculous HEA ASAP! And, holy heavenly inferno, does she get a phenomenal one! We’re not talking balls, princes, carriages, and glass slippers. Ha! Vaughn is no prince! :) No, River’s happily ever after is rooted in the relatable imperfect reality of living in Hook, NJ. Nevertheless, her newfound forever is a million times more magical than any fairy tale because she gets Vaughn, the fierce warrior who she’d never stopped loving and who she discovers never, ever stopped loving her back with an unshakable devotion. Vaughn. Mercy! Every swoon-worthy inch of that dirty-talking male was tailor made for headboard-breaking-earth-shattering sex. On the streets, Vaughn is so many good and honorable things. A brave but reluctant war hero, a penitent, protective, and loving partner, and an attentive, invested, and smitten new father. For all of these noble things, I liked and admired him a lot. However, behind closed doors, with his wicked sights set on River and his mighty prowess, talents, and ravenous appetites unleashed, he is an enviable, insatiable animal! And, I loved every blazing minute of it! I could read and re-read those steamy scenes for days! I’m not sure I’m ready to part with THROWN DOWN just yet having enjoyed River and Vaughn’s turbulent and deliciously torrid second-chance love story so immensely. I can hardly wait to see what happens next in the series when WORKED UP releases this August! Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

    Amazing read

I loved this one! It was a fantastic sexy love story and the blurb on this book doesn't do it justice. After reading the blurb I thought I would hate Vaughn but this dirty talking bad boy stole my heart from the very start of this book. After leaving River a broken hearted mess 49 months and 3 days ago, he's back in Hook to set things right and claim the one thing he's always wanted - River and his daughter, his family. Convincing River he's back for good may be the hardest thing he's ever done but he's determined and intends to use every trick he knows to win her heart again. An amazing read you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.

    I. LOVE. VAUGHN.

When I saw the cover of this book an alarm bell went off in my head for two reasons. A) its an Entangled Brazen and B) its Tessa Bailey To me, that means without a shadow of a doubt its going to be a 5 star read. I was not disappointed in the least. Thrown Down is the story of Vaughn De Matteo and River Purcell and is the second of the Made in Jersey series. Vaughn is alpha.. soooo very, very alpha. He's always been a fighter, the underdog. He's never been good enough for River. He had to leave to let her have a chance at the great life that she deserves. The life she would never have with him. River is a struggling single mother. She would never ask anyone for help or even admit that she needs it, but sometimes she wonders what life would be like if Vaughn hadnt left. Oh the feeeeels with this book. I think maybe because there is a child involved. It was so much deeper that what I am used to feeling with a Brazen story. It was really beautiful. Add the second chance romance, the big burly alpha hero with a filthy, FILTHY mouth and BAM... 5 stars, baby. All day, everyday. This will be on heavy rotation in the re-read pile for me. Heavy rotation. I enjoyed it that much. Vaughn is on my short list of naughty talking BBFs now and I have a feeling he wont be displaced anytime soon. I give Thrown Down 5***** WIckedGoodStars and appreciate the opportunity to read/review this book! *ARC was given in exchange for an honest review*

... a story of self doubt and yearning ...

On the surface Thrown Down is your standard romance. Bad boy, good girl , second chance, etc. Digging deeper however exposes a story of self doubt, yearning and examines painful truths. I received an ARC of Thrown Down by Tessa Bailey in exchange for an honest review. River and Vaughn allowed the opinions of others to shape how they felt about each other and themselves. Thrown Down is about confronting the past so that history does not repeat. A little slow but still a good bet. My rating 3.5 stars

    If you like desperation

I'm usually a fan of Tessa Bailey, but I think she missed the mark on this one. In my humble opinion, there was too much desperation and not enough story and character evolution. I think it needed more work.
