    Sometimes timing is really everything

I loved this book. I loved it. Loved it. Loooooooveeeeed it. There were separate elements that made it great. 1. The feeling of an unconventional love story. I loved that they spent the time apart, even when it got frustrating at times. Sometimes timing really is everything. 2. Character development. Sofia and Dakota were both such complexed characters. Discovering their layers was some of the best character development Devneys done so far. 3.I loved the different types of love was approached. How it can be multidimensional but mostly the heavy emphasis on self love. Sofias journey into loving herself was inspirational as was Dakotas journey into accepting who he was and to feel proud of his choices. 4. Their love language. I loved how they clicked to each others needs from the start. Their connection and understanding of one another was amazing. 5.Forgiveness and redemption. First impressions aren't always right. I hated Sofia on sight when I first read her in Tattered but i was also intrigued, what made her into such a brat? From the prologue in Tinsel the petty feelings towards her just fall away and in turn you become protective of her missundertood soul. 6.I'm a sucker for a good epilogue and this one brought it all home. It was simply magnificent.

Shredded my heart and put it back together

Oh my gawd! This book literally shredded my heart! It was a slow process the started with just a tug and a pull that then escalated into a full on ravaging. And then, just as only this author can do it, with one of the most amazing epilogues, it was put back together more perfect and fuller than when I began. This is the type of story that an addicted romance reader such as myself hungers for. The kind that will take you from a barroom littered with peanut shells to a place where the impossible is possible and black boxes no longer exist. My heart hurt for Sofia and all that she had pushed aside as she was forced into the woman that she has become. I felt her pain and humiliation as this story opens. The words written to describe it so sharp and clear drawing the perfect picture of a woman completely lost as to who she really is and what her life had to offer. I’ve never before read a story where the heroine finds herself written in such a heartfelt way. Never cared enough about another character like I did Sofia. I was totally invested in her journey and how she would find joy in her life. Dakota had similar struggles. He’s fighting his past and the expectations that have been placed on him all his life. With a dream for his future his days and nights are spent working towards that goal. I loved how, despite his initial frustration and impressions of Sofia, he recognized that he needed to take care with her. And that decision made all the difference. He became the man that didn’t make her stronger but that encouraged her to find the strength she already held within herself. Forget sexy times, those were the swoony moments in this story. While this author tends to lace her books with some angst, I can’t recall another that held the level that Tinsel did. I teared up, I cried silent tears and then I flat out sobbed all because this couple were so perfect for each other. Their struggle pierced my heart and I experienced every emotion they did as they both fought to do what was right, what their individual lives required, and most of all to secure a future together. There might have been a time or two between the tears that I cursed this author for making me care so much. This book flows from scene to scene without ever feeling heavy handed. Once I started I couldn’t stop and before I knew it I had reached its conclusion. Yes, there is definitely steam here, the best kind, but with a Deveny Perry book it’s about so much more. This author outshines herself with each new release and actually sets the bar higher for herself. And I know I’ve said it with each book in this series, but this one truly is the best of them all.

    Great Read!!

Great read!! Devney Perry did it again!! Outstanding ending to a wonderfully delightful series!! The series as a whole gives you all the feels! Sophia became a woman who needed to believe in herself, in her worth. Dakota was the perfect man to help her with that! A great read! The epilogue was great! The bonus epilogue was even greater! Great job Devney! This is definitely a series I will read again and again!

    Loved this story!

Sofia Kendrick has been a spoiled princess type of character. I have looked forward to her story, because I knew she would have a lot of growth in her journey. I was not wrong. I loved the story of why she came to Montana and how she came to meet Dakota. It was a humbling experience for her. The differences between these two were so vast and wide, you would never have thought to pair them together. They had an instant attraction though, that helped lead them to more. I really enjoyed all the ups and downs they went through, individually and as a couple. It was full of hope, heartbreak and growth. Tinsel really helps to prove that despite people's differences in culture, race or financial status, love can conquer all.

Expressive, emotionally charged, and deeply felt

Expressive, emotionally charged, and deeply felt—Tinsel is the fall and rise of one woman! The traits for Devney Perry's characters do not go unnoticed as each one is just as fascinating as the ones that came before. Devney took a character I undoubtedly loathed with every fiber in my being and transformed her into someone I grew to love with every flip of the page. Sofia Kendrick is a spoiled rich princess. Or so we thought. Crown aside, Sofia is a little girl who never got the same attention as her older siblings. She's misunderstood, searching for acceptance, wanting love, broken from the past, and a woman without her passion. To my core, I felt for her, and I hurt for you. I cried for the woman I once saw as a villainess! Sofia's escape from the big city to Lark Cove, Montana puts her on a path of healing and as she travels the road of self-discovery she uncovers the truth about herself—there is strength in her tears and power in her vulnerabilities. Dakota Magee, though estranged from his family traditions he is still very much haunted by them. As an American Indian his life was planned for him from birth, yet rooted in Dakota's marrow was the desire to fly free of the ties to his tribe's reservation. The freedom he seeks causes a rift between him and his family, one that grows wider every day he doesn't return home. Dakota's battle isn't with the opinions of other's. Instead, his war is with his perception of himself. Sofia Kendrick and Dakota Magee were an unexpected pair. Two people from two separate backgrounds with completely different lifestyles, yet they found a home in one another. This woman—which I shouldn't be surprised by now—has an extraordinary talent that only seems to showcase the development of her writing with each novel. Descriptive and imaginative, Devney Perry not only reveals the settings within the story beautifully but she pens characters that scream home while creating a feeling of comfort in her small towns that keeps readers, myself included, coming back book after book after book!
