    Dragon Shifter Awakens

The dragon Kheladin awakens and knows he is in his cave but based on the pile of shed dragon scales can tell that a long time has passed by. The last thing he remembers is battling Rhukon an evil black wyvern. He shifts into his bonded mage form of Lachlan Moncrieffe. Lachlan dons a kilt, shirt, and leather boots to venture outside to see what is going on. Instead of seeing his castle and lands, he sees a very different and confusing world. Dr. Maggie Hibbins has come to Scotland for a psychiatric internship. She comes from a family of witches but has not embraced that side of her heritage because of losing her parents early on due to a fight with a rival coven. Maggie is the first person that Lachlan interacts with after emerging from the cave. She is intrigued by the way he is dressed and his manner of speech. They are immediately drawn to each other. Can she embrace her witchy side and fight together with Lachlan to defeat the dark forces aligned against them and the humans in our world? Add in some Celtic gods and godesses and a witches coven council you have an excellent book with well developed characters. While To Love a Highland Dragon is the second book in the Dragon Lore series, it can easily be read as a standalone. Though I do suggest you read the books in the order they were written to better understand all of the characters as the "dark magic" theme weaves through the books. I look forward to reading the other books in this series. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Dragon, witches, good, evil, funny, romantic, OH MY

A shifter dragon has been under a sleeping curse for nearly 300 years, needless to say his reaction to his castle being gone, cars zooming by, pollution, women who he thinks are dressed like harlots, cell phones and OMG planes, well it's a little overwhelming. Thank goodness the person who first runs into him, takes it all in stride when she sees a gorgeous, but rather strangely dressed, slightly smelly and apparently has a bit of a mental problem, man show up seemingly from the bushes where she's walking by. The questions here is why are they not running in opposite directions, but instead seem to be drawn to each other. Although they seem to like each other physically, they both are leery but are willing to listen to each others stories. They discover they each have not only secrets but powers and they must now work together to stay alive from the evil that is still trying to destroy him. Along the way they meet fascinating people, both family and friends, whose help they'll need. Meanwhile the feelings they have for each other grow and they learn that not even hundreds of years can keep their apart. This is a great love story, filled with funny moments that just happens to involve dragons, witches, both good and bad ones, funny and oh so serious ones. If you read the first book in the series, you'll run into some of the characters in this story. It may seem like I've given a lot of spoilers but I've just given the highlights; you'll have to read to get the full exciting, funny, and so sensual story moments that happen in between my lines. I highly recommend this story to all who love not only highlanders, but dragons, witches, comical scenarios and beautiful, romantic love.

Received this book free for an honest review. Wow! This story just gets better and better. I love the way the author incorporates her other book's characters into this series as well. It's nice to hear about and visit old friends. What's in store for us in the next book? Well, look no further. Just grab it and read along with me!

    Sigh - enjoy! I know I did!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Sigh. Dragons and Highland men, what more could you ask for? Lachlan merged his mage skills with Kheladin the dragon and they bonded years ago making them immortal. When they awaken from a sorcerers sleep spell, years have past. Lucky for them Maggie is a modern woman with a little bit of witch blood herself. Throw in some really amusing phrases here and there and you have a blend of the traditional Highland warrior meets today's modern woman. Sigh. Lots of action, lots of love, lots of magic. It's all there and just waiting for you to pick it up and read all about it. Enjoy! I know I did!
