    Loved this book!

Toxic is Kim Karr doing what she does best. This story will have you on the edge throughout. The way she writes Phoebe and Jeremy’s story is breathtaking, heart wrenching and tension filled. Two people who are “Toxic” for each other, yet so right for one another. Jeremy McQueen will steal your heart, leave you breathless and wanting so much more. He is all of my favorite book boyfriends wrapped into one fine package. Phoebe St. Claire is the type of heroine that I like. Strong, feisty, with just the right amount of femininity to make her loveable. The tension is this book is palpable. You feel it in every inch of your body. The sex is off the charts between these two. No two characters have had me cheering them on like I was for them. I couldn’t put the book down. I feared that the story would take a turn I wasn’t ready for. You feel their love and understand the torment that is their relationship. You will hate them both for the decisions they make and hold your breath in anticipation of a happy ending. This is by far my favorite Kim Karr book to date. I’m really hoping there is a spin off for some of the secondary characters. That would be awesome!

WOW well here I go again....I am going to sound like a broken record but Kim Karr has done it once again....she managed to write yet another WINNER!!!! I say that because I have read all her books and LOVED them all!!! WOW this Toxic was AMAZING from page 1....the minute I started reading it I couldn't put it down. This is the story of Jeremy McQueen and Phoebe Saint Claire, young love that was so beautiful and passionate but ended one summer only to start up again five years later. Jeremy was an ambitious entrepreneur who was out to recapture his beautiful Phoebe who was now the CEO of the Saint Hotel, a family owned business she was trying to save. Jeremy would do anything for his Phoebe so he set out to help her keep the Hotel afloat. But could they do it together....could they mix business and pleasure....well yes they could and what pleasure we had reading their adventures together. It was truly magical and so beautiful. This story was smokin hot and was full of everything you want in a good story love, lust, lots of off the charts sex....oh my was Phoebe ever lucky....special friendships, fun times shared by all but it also had sadness filled with betrayal, mistrust, jealousy and greed. This story was a roller coaster ride but this is one ride I encourage everyone to take....I highly recommend it as you will discover what it takes to build and hang on to a relationship that is not only filled with love but belief as well. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. Kim Karr has outdone herself with this book....the writing and twists and turns are simply amazing and will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time you are reading. I say BRAVA Kim and thanks for giving us all another wonderful read and another great book to add to our shelves.

I want more of that toxic love!

I absolutely adore second chance romances. There's just something about past loves reconnecting that is extra special. I always feel like they're more passionate than romances where the characters are meeting for the first time. Toxic was extremely passionate. You wouldn't think a love story with the title Toxic would work. After all toxic is not a good descriptive word. However, Jeremy and Phoebe don't have your typical love story and I think the title worked out perfectly. I loved Phoebe. She's determined to do right by her family's legacy. She's tenacious but kind. I loved her work ethic. Jeremy was a bit of a mystery. I really liked him in the flashback to the past, but I wasn't sure about him when he and Phoebe reconnected. He was protective of her, but then he was also reserved. I wasn't sure if he was all into her again or if he was biding his time for revenge. Jeremy also worked hard and it showed in the success he'd achieved. They were both similar in how they handled things. Both were quick to react first. They also had trust issues. Of course it didn't help that those issues were fueled by past loves/dalliances who were still in their lives. The story was great. For those who don't like a book flashing back and forth from the past to the present, you won't have a problem because the past was neatly contained. It was thorough as well. I didn't really understand why what split them apart was such a big deal until later on in the book. Then it made sense. I liked the mix of romance and mystery/suspense.Another thing I really loved about this book was Phoebe's friends. I wouldn't mind reading stories set around them. The chemistry Phoebe and Jeremy had was obvious, right from the beginning. I liked that they tried to temper it but weren't able to. I also liked seeing Phoebe and Jeremy work out their problems, but then they kept having the same problem over and over again. By the end of the book I was really ready for them to figure it out. Lol. One of the messages I got from this book was it's never too late to fix a mistake. It wasn't just Jeremy and Phoebe who made mistakes, or their friends, but the people they admired and loved made them too. I also loved the concept of trying again and again, and the power of trust and believing. I think this is my favorite book by Kim Karr. I think it'll become one of your favorites too!
