    All the magic stars!

This read deserves more than 5 stars! It deserves all the magic stars! I love a wonderful happy ever after and this one is sitting at the top of my favorites list! If ever there was a character, a hero nonetheless, that needed a happy ending it is Kaine. His journey was heartbreaking and gut clinching. I cried over his loss but I sobbed with happiness over his ultimate triumph of a past that had left him broken. My first bit of advice is to go into this book with as little knowledge of the plot as possible. It makes the unfolding of the story all the more wonderful as you’re pulled from not having a clue into “Oh my gosh!” I personally love when that happens. Kaine has lived alone on the mountain for three years and he was perfectly fine with the isolation. That’s the way he prefers it. But when his new neighbor, Piper, blows into his life his quiet solitude is shattered. In more ways than the noise coming from next door. Piper’s feisty personality is the perfect counter point to Kaine’s broody, grouchy attitude. When these two get together things get explosive. Their dynamic was by far the most enjoyable I’ve read in a while and their chemistry is off the charts. However, she has her own issues she’s struggling with. It takes time and self-reflection but she’s working on putting her own past behind her. How these two work through their enemies-to-lovers-to-who-the-heck-knows is filled with so many ups and downs. I was gobbling every word up as quickly as I could because slowly absorbing them is what rereads are for. Besides, I needed to see Kaine get his HEA and along with him, Piper. I couldn’t fathom how this author was going to bring this about. But as I mentally jumped ahead to fill in all the blanks and questions with my own answers based on your average romances, I was once again surprised how Devney Perry didn’t use the old tried and true but brought a fresh twist to a well-used trope. There is a lot of magic in this book, just not the kind you’re probably imagining. I absolutely loved every single thing about this story. The characters, both new and revisited, the location, the heat between the hero and heroine, and the sheer perfection of that often sought Happy Ever After.

    Superb Read!!

A superb read! This book gives you all the feels!! Kaine...a man trying to put his life back together after an unthinkable tragedy destroys his world. Piper...a woman who just wants a new life after a terrible divorce. They each set out to heal on their own but soon realize they will only truly heal together. A power, emotional and riveting book right from the start. Yet another great book for the Lark Cove series. Devney Perry does not disappoint.

    Perfection!

Tragic is the perfect title for this amazing story. Kaine's history was beyond tragic and heartbreaking. The grief and anger were a living, breathing part of him. Piper held her pain inside, from the things she had gone through. They each carried the weight of their pasts on their souls. I really loved every part of their journey. From the first moment she sees him in the field, they had an intense connection. Despite any ups and downs, it was strong and kept them coming back to each other in some way. Reading this book gave me an incredibly emotional ride. I laughed out loud a lot, swooned and melted over the romance, and I cried tears of hurt and hope. Another beautifully written story by one of my top favorite authors.

    🌟🌟🌟ALL THE STARS🌟🌟🌟

Piper Campbell! The newest resident of Lark Cove! Sarcastic and quickwitted, yet so very vulnerable. Life has not been very kind to her, yet she keeps moving forward. Keeps living through her brokenness as truths about her life before Montana are revealed. Simply put, Piper Campbell is indestructible. Kaine Reynolds is a grinch. A big mountain of a snappy man always with short answers. Preferring isolation and quietness, Kaine is not living life at all. He's simply existing on his secluded mountain. The man he was before—now invisible. Instead, a gloomy version of himself remains—angry and dejected with a sense of foreboding. Soon, Kaine's desolate life is interrupted when he gets a new neighbor. A new neighbor who recognizes the pain he is harboring upon first perusal. A beautiful woman that takes the broken pieces he offers as her own, filling up her brokeness. But she gives, too. Gives him magic. Gives him healing. Gives him calm through his raging storms. The center that always seems to bring him back to gravity. And oh boy, together they were sensual and sultry, seductive and just downright passionate about each other. Falling blindly into a love affair that was never expected. From enemies to friendly neighbor's to parallel lovers—Kaine and Piper were, in fact, kindred spirits that found solace in one another. Devney Perry once again shows her talent for penning such beautiful imagery throughout her novels. But she doesn't stop there! She brings you into her world, pours her heart out into her words, solidifying you as a staple in her towns. With quick references to the town that started it all and foreshadowing of what's to come, this is a book you finish and immediately wish to relive every gasp, every stolen breathe, every punch to the soul and squeeze to the heart. And though I say it often, this is a book that just so happens to be my new favorite, Devney Perry novel!! Bewitching, compelling, and emotionally charged—Tragic is by all means tragic, yet filled with immense magic and a happily ever after worthy of all the turmoil!

    Tragic

I fell in love with the town of Lark Cove and its citizens in Devney Perry's Tattered. Piper, Logan's assistant, moved to Lark Cove after her divorce was finalized. Kaine moved a few years earlier after a tragedy struck him. They ended up becoming neighbors and friends, although they both wanted more. They help each other work through their problems, and this allows them to grow closer. Devney Perry does an excellent job of developing her characters and plots. Tragic is one of my favorites!
