Great Book In The Songbird Series!!

Troublemaker, which is the sixth book in the Songbird Series, tells the story of Marcus and Kelly. Marcus spent his high years infatuated with Kelly but never gotten the chance to tell her, five years later, the tides have turned and now Kelly is working under him as an assistant. Kelly has spent her life not working due to the fact that her only expectation growing up was marrying rich but with her growing frustrations with her mother and a recent break-up with her fiance has her looking for something new. When Kelly applied for the job, she never expected to be thrown back to her past when she realizes her new boss is Marcus. Kelly makes it clear to Marcus that she wants nothing to do with him and wants to keep everything professional at the office but at the same time she falls for Bryce, who works with Marcus as a manager. Marcus makes Kelly a bet that if Bryce breaks her heart, then he gets one date with her. when the bet is broke and Marcus takes her out, it makes Kelly realize that maybe Marcus isn't all that bad but her mother is making things difficult for her. It all leads to Kelly finally taking a stand for herself and who she truly wants to be with for the rest of her life and an ending that will set us up for what is to come in the next book. As with all the books that I have read by Melissa Pearl, this one is fantastic and I can't wait to see what is gonna happen in the next book. I thought Kelly was a rich brat at first but by the end of the book, I came to love her for what she goes through dealing with her mother. The way that Melissa intertwines music throughout the book and series is pretty cool to do and has me wanting to go find those songs and listen to them and get the sense at what the characters are feeling. Thank You to Melissa Pearl for writing a excellent addition to the Songbird Series and I can't wait to read more of this series!! I received this book from the Author in exchange for a honest review.

Love at first sight isn't always made of fairytale goodness! Sometimes it takes time and maybe second chances to truly get what you want! Marcus has grown up has an amazing job as a manager for rock stars! He's not the dweeb he was in high school so when Kelly his high school crush wants a job in his office he jumps at a second chance to woo her! But can they over look that fact that they are still so different, that they still come from two different worlds; can love be enough to surpass all the oppositions in front of them?! Melissa Pearl writes amazing beautiful books her songbird series is wonderful!! I love traveling thru each book and seeing familiar characters lives unfold!

This is the Marcus' story, and tells how he has been in love with Kelly since High School. To be honest, I couldn't understand the why's and wherefore's of Marcus' love for her, as she seemed to be a real snippety madam to me. However, the joy of Melissa Pearl's writing is when she takes a character, and turns them around, and you end up cheering them on. This is what happened to me with Kelly. This is a quick, fun, and also introspective book. Kelly has to figure out if she is prepared to act for who she is, and work for what she wants, or if she is going to be an empty figurehead. This is not as easy as it sounds, and she definitely has her work cut out for her. With characters that are both lovely, and others that are instantly dislikeable, this story is fast-paced and smooth. Well written, with no grammatical or editing errors that I found, this was a delight to read, and a wonderful addition to the Songbird series. Definitely recommended. * I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
