Unforgettable, it grasps hold of your heart!

The story begins with a powerful impact and stays with you long after you have finished reading it. It's extremely emotional in the first couple of chapters and you know that your in for a hell of a read. I loved the dark depth to the powerful backbone of the story, it grasps hold of your heart as you read it, which is sadly real life for some. I found myself choked at times whilst reading, it was literally heartbreaking in places. This wasn't just a romance this was a shocking and beautiful tale with real life issues. I read half the book in one sitting and had to force myself to put it down otherwise nothing would have got done that day, I was almost lost in the moment of the story and will admit I held off reading the last couple of chapters as I did not want it to end. Truman Gritt, Tru, is one of the main characters, his loyalty to his brother and family tugs at your heart. He is every girls dream, sexy, protective with strong powerful arms to wrap around you, a hard exterior that carries a heart of pure gold melting you to the core. Both Tru and his brother are massively neglected by their drug addict of a mother, they live a harrowing life and are forced to live in a squalor, as Tru does the best he can looking after his brother. Then everything changes in a split second and life comes crashing down on them as Tru's life is put on hold as he finds himself in jail for a murder he did not commit, thinking he was protecting his brother. What he finds upon release breaks your heart. So clear were the descriptions I could sense everything it was describing and the anger and sadness climbed up inside of me. Loveable Gemma pushes her way into his Tru's life, just when it's the last thing he needs, seeing the panic in his eyes. I found her an absolute hoot! She sees past his hard exterior, sensing his softness and filling her own need. From that moment, oh my wordy, a wonderful, strong, emotional and highly sexual romance develops that fills your heart with happiness as you will their relationship on. But what will she think when she learns of his horrendous past? Will Tru's past, and present, stop their happiness? What really shocked me in the story was two things - 1) just how much I loved this pushy lady, she was so endearing, I absolutely loved her and she made me smile throughout and 2) The strength of Tru's loyalty even if it meant stopping his life from moving forward for the sake of others. I smiled so much through the lighter, happier times. The ending will make you go weak all over, it took my breath away. Wow, what a story, I will definitely be reading this again. This has to be one of my favorite books by Melissa, only topped by Have No Shame, both have full blown emotional issues that take hold of you. One story never to be forgotten!

    TRU BLUE By Melissa Foster

Truman is just out of prison his brother Quincy calls him in a panic , he needs Truman to come to him. When Truman arrives he finds his mother dead and two little children. Assuming they are Quincy's but no they are Truman's little brother and sister. He can't leave them there but what does he know about children . While at Walmart to buy all they need he meets Gemma who can clearly see he needs help. You can't go wrong with a Melissa Foster book she grabs you from the first chapter and her characters are so lovable. Excellent read

    Breathtakingly good

Truman has sacrificed a lot for his family, even going to prison for a crime he didn't commit. His life up to this point left him with a lot of baggage. He's strong but still battling his past ... and then suddenly he finds himself as father figure to his two young siblings. The day they come into his life is his luckiest for a lot of reasons - one of which is Gemma. Gemma's upbringing may have had all the comforts that money can buy but it was cold and lonely. She's determined to live life on her own terms and meeting Truman in the middle of the night, looking lost as he tries to shop for two small children, sets her on a course she never saw coming. Even though they come from completely opposite places, Gemma and Truman are absolutely darling together. He's dedicated, protective and loving of those that he lets into his life. She's supportive and caring, just what he needs, especially when things seem to be out of control. They have a lot to work through, both internal and external, before they can find a HEA but they are strong enough that if they believe in themselves and each other they can make it. And two absolutely adorable kids that make it even more worthwhile. Foster once again brings her readers stunning characters and a story that is fascinating but not overly dramatic. There is both struggle and happiness, moments to make you sigh and those that might make you blush, a touch of humor and lots of feel-good moments. She gives you a hero that is breathtaking in his sexiness & his devotion and a heroine who understands him & can help him through difficult moments. After everything Tru's been through you can't help but root for him to finally have something amazingly good in his life. *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. Fantastic story! My heart actually hurt for Truman. He such a good man stuck in a terrible situation and he comes out...STILL a good man. I loved all the characters in this book. I thought Gemma was amazing though I didn't like the fact that she was willing to lose him and the kids over illegal paperwork. At that moment the "prude" in her came out. Aside from that, Truman and Gemma were magical together. Sizzling! This is another AMAZING story by Melissa Foster. I'm looking forward to reading more about the Whiskey's of Peaceful Harbor in the Love in Bloom series.

You will fall for Truman, Gemma, Kennedy, and Lincoln hook line and sinker. I think this is one of the best Melissa Foster books to date, and that is saying a lot because I love all her books!!!
