    Runaway Bride!

Finally, after reading about Nancy in many of the other recent Montana Born Brides books, we get to read her story. The glimpses we got of Nancy in the other books in the series hinted at a spoiled bridezilla. In this book, we learn who she really is and how her past has shaped who she is today, and discover appearances can often be deceiving. Wyatt truly loves her, so much that he's willing to let her go if marrying Jared is truly what will make her happy. Loved the runaway bride scene - often this is done at the beginning of the story to set the stage for the romance between the two main characters, but in this case, it worked well to do it in the middle. I think, after reading the preceding novellas in the series, we needed to find out more about her relationship with Jared and the lead up to why she's running away for the rest of the story to work. Great read and I'll be looking for more from Kat Latham.

    Two Nights With His Bride

Kat Latham made me feel all sorts of emotions as I read Two Nights With His Bride. I was nervous, entertained, sad, and happy! Nancy (Nancylynn) has worked hard to get where she is today. Strong on the outside, inside I got the feeling she was still seeking that safe feeling, that feeling of being taken care of that she felt like she missed growing up. I didn't always understand her or her decisions, but Nancy is a strong character whose story was intriguing. Most of the time I really liked her, but at times just wanted her to open her eyes up! Wyatt and Nancy have a history from a long ago childhood she's strived to put behind her. Wyatt sees a lot in her that she doesn't. He knows she is strong and deserves much better than she's settling for. An attraction is there for both of them, but neither of them can act on since she's going to be marrying another man...even if everyone else thinks he's the wrong man for her! I was glad about this, that both of them had strong morals. I liked how Wyatt is with Nancy, even if he hasn't seen her for years. He's a really good guy. I liked the secondary characters in Two Nights With His Bride. I wasn't sure about the bridesmaids, but I actually ended up liking them quite a bit. They sure spiced things up! I enjoyed seeing characters from previous books, and the interactions they had in this one. It was great to be back in Marietta! Kat took me on an emotional, bumpy ride with enough conflict to keep things interesting and to keep me on edge about how things would end up. Some of the scenes were so vivid they will stay in my head for a while! I'd recommend Two Nights With His Bride to any romance reader.

A second chance at true love

And finally we get the story about the bride that's be causing a ruckus in Marietta, Nancy Parsons. Also it was great to be back with the Wilder siblings and their extended family. Everyone except her is aware that she is marrying the wrong guy but she's too "blindly in love" to see Jared for the jerk that he is. Until her bridesmaids organize a "roughing it in the wild" bachelorette party. But things get complicated when Nancy's childhood friend and crush turns out to be the guide. Getting back to her roots and rehashing their complicated history with Wyatt leaves Nancy with the feeling that something is amiss. Then Jared crashes the bachelorette party and things start falling into perspective. What follows is quite nerve wracking and nail biting for a while but with Wyatt by her side to protect her as he always did we closed on a finale that is quite fitting for this series. eARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

    another interesting Kat Latham stories

This story has a different flavour than the other Montana Born Brides series books. Nancy is engaged to Jared, and we soon find out that Jared is a very controlling and not very nice guy. While Wyatt isn't the only one who tries to convey to Nancy that she's making a mistake, he's the one who held a piece of her heart long ago, and still does. Will she see the truth before it's too late? I really like Kat Latham's writing and she does a wonderful job with this story too, painting the picture of how a woman can be fooled by a man into thinking that he's a wonderful protective guy when he really is just a controlling person. I cringed for Nancy as she tried to justify his behaviour to her friends and family, and most of all to herself. It was sometimes hard to read this story, I wanted to shake her awake and make her see what she was doing. Wyatt comes across as a friendly, generous man and you can see how Nancy's relationship with Jared affects him. When Nancy finally sees the truth of Jared's behaviour, Wyatt is there to help her figure things out, and they have some sweet and sexy scenes, with a happy ending. 3.5 stars.
