    Great prequel story

This story is a prequel in the Compass series (books 1 and 2 already released). It's not a romance with an HEA but a look at a young India and how she got involved in the world of dominance and submission, and in particular her relationship with two men - Reyes and Hunter. Rey is a college friend who just so happens to be a player in the kink world, and Hunter is an older man who becomes obsessed with India. Both have a part to play in who India is now. I was a little daunted by the synopsis of this one, I'll admit. But overall I quite enjoyed it and I thought it was a really well done picture of how someone could get involved in the world of BDSM. Rey is India's friend, confidante, and trainer in the expectations of what a dominant man wants. I liked their relationship and the total trust between them. Hunter was an interesting man - it's clear that he desires India though he doesn't love her. He wants all of India, for her to be a slave to him and his whims and while India wants desperately to please him, it's not going to be at the expense of her desire for the future. It's an interesting paradox - to be submissive and yet to want control over one's destiny. Although Hunter sometimes takes things too far, it's clear that he would listen to India if she were to use her safe word, which makes everything that happens under her control. Pain for pleasure isn't my cup of tea, so some of the sex scenes were not comfortable for me to read, but others were scorchingly hot. In the end India makes the right decision for her future. 4 stars.

    5+ Stars!

Uncharted Territory by Tamsen Parker is an incredible prequel that could easily stand on it's own. I loved this novel. Not only did the pace move at a great speed, but the romance and erotica within this novel were fantastic. There was no low point and at no point did I get bored or sick of the book. I craved each chapter and I couldn't put it down! If anything, the only "problem" I saw with this novel is that it seemed to end suddenly. There was no slow buildup to the plot twist, it just happened suddenly. I would have liked there to be more buildup and anticipation for the plot twist, but that's just me being picky. The writing was fantastic. Tamsen Parker did a great job building the characters throughout the novel and showing the relationships between the characters. All of the main characters were strong and didn't act out of character throughout the novel. Overall, I loved it! I want more by Tamsen Parker immediately! Five out of five stars! I would give it more stars if possible!!
