    Enjoyable Read

Having read the first book, New Prints in Old Calico, I found this western romance to be highly enjoyable, although I do not think you really need to read the first one to enjoy this one. We are taken back to Calico, where time is firmly set in the 1800's (no time travel here), and we finally find out what happens with the dastardly Austen Riley. Lil, a feisty saloon owner finally finds her happily ever after with Chet Bowman, the sad and lonely rancher who nearly killed Austen Riley in the first book. I truly enjoyed their courtship and recommend this adventurous romance to anyone who loves a good frontier romance story. I am looking forward to the next story in Ms Lynn's Calico world.

    Old West Romance

It has been 6 months since former Marshal, Austen Riley, stood back and watched a lynch mob hang Chet’s brother Chas from the gallows. When strange things start happening, Chet realizes he needs to end Austen Riley once and for all. Will he find the villain in time to save the damsel in distress? Overall, I found the book to be a quick, mildly enjoyable read. Some additional backstory on the characters would have been helpful, truly making the novel stand on its own. Mark this “to read” on a cold Sunday afternoon this winter.
