    Entertaining

4 star review Under The Boardwalk (Costas Sisters #1) by Carly Phillips   I was so excited when I learnt that Carly Phillips was writing a new series and with Under The Boardwalk she is off to a good start. This is a bit of a departure from the books I have previously read from Ms.Phillips but I really enjoyed it. Ariana (Ari) Costas is a college professor, add in that she comes from Greek heritage, has a twin sister Zoe and for me I just knew that I was in for an entertaining read. Having grown up with close family friends that are Greek, I knew that when you are friends with one of the family then the WHOLE family becomes involved in your business. Detective Quinn Donovan takes one glance at Ari and mistakenly believes she is Zoe. Realizing that she is in fact Zoe’s twin, he knows that he must do his best to protect her after Ari rushes back home when she learns that Zoe has disappeared. Quinn is undercover at the Casino that Ari has managed to get a job at since she is determined to get to the bottom of her sister’s disappearance. What follows is a story with mystery, suspense and I was on the edge of my seat at times as I read Under The Boardwalk. This story also has some humor and steamy scenes that will draw you in and keep you invested. Can Quinn solve the case, keep Ari safe and cope with quirky characters and an over the top Greek family that have no hesitation in butting in? One click and find out.

    So enjoyable!

Ariana Costas is a professor who lives in Vermont. She comes from a large Greek family who has a penchant for running cons. She's long been embarrassed by her family and the things they seem to get themselves into. Ari has returned to her hometown in New Jersey because her twin sister, Zoe, has gone missing and is presumed dead. She decides to get a job at the casino her sister was working at to try to get information on what could have happened to her. Quinn Donovan is a detective who is working on a case that has him undercover at the casino that Zoe, and now, Ari, is working at. He and his partner, who is also his best friend, Connor, have been through a lot as they both have come through the foster system. Quinn is trying to help get his young friend Sam placed in a loving home as well, which shows how much he cares. Ari and Quinn have instant chemistry, but while there is definitely that pull, Quinn also has to worry about trying to keep Ari safe as the case plays itself out. Will everything work out for this couple or will Ari keep running? Under the Boardwalk is a reissue, however, it's still as enjoyable this time as it was the last time.

    Great reread

This was one of the first books I read from Carly Phillips many years ago, but this is a release and it was great rediscovering old friends. Arianna and Quinn are a great story and reading their story is great. I could not put this book down. I am never disappointed with a Carly Phillips book, new old or redo.

    Fun, enjoyable read

Ariana Costas has always thought her family was over the top, especially her twin sister Zoe so it was no surprise that Ari left New Jersey and headed to Vermont to be a college professor. When Zoe goes missing, Ari comes back home to try and find her sister and make peace with the way they left things. What Ari didn't expect to find was danger, someone shooting at her and the hunky Quinn Donovan who turns out to be an undercover detective. Quinn just wants to do his job and be done with this case but he finds himself drawn to Ari and her crazy family. Ari sees how much Quinn loves her crazy family and she slowly starts to realize that deep down she has missed them. Just when Quinn is about to break the case, all heck breaks loose. By pure luck and maybe a little of that crazy Costas' way of life, Ari is able to fix the situation and everyone gets their happy ending. I enjoyed this story. I read it years ago and just now again. I personally couldn't handle living the way the Costas' family does but I couldn't help laughing along with hi-jinks of Spank! Lots of fun laugh out loud moments. I also loved how this crazy family takes in an orphan named Samantha who just fits right in. Overall this was a fun, enjoyable read.

    A quick and fun read.

Under the Broadwalk is the first book in the Costas Sisters Duet, and it was a quick and fun read, that had me easily engaged throughout. Thanks to a boisterous and eccentric large Greek family, and an entertaining storyline that had some witty banter, a little suspense and plenty of chemistry between undercover cop Quinn and college professor, and Costas sister Ariana, whose returned to her hometown in the search of answers after it appears her twin sister Zoe has gone missing. Would happily recommend. **I was kindly provided with a free copy of Under the Broadwalk via Booksprout in exchange for an honest review**
