Jackie Keswick takes us on a lighter art heist fare starring pop Matisse Vervein and grieving Josh Ingram. Josh Ingram is on the hunt to find the art thief who murdered his partner years ago. An opportunity pops up in the form of Matisse Vervein, a pop idol who wants to be a rock star. The friction between Mat and Josh at the beginning was enticing and kept you on the edge of your seat, wondering who would crack first. There is so much emotion in this novel as Jackie explores Josh’s grief and guilt for not being able to save his best friend’s life as well as Matisse’s needs to come out as both a gay man and a rock star. It is emotional. Both characters are amazing and endearing. The pacing in the novel is quick, going from concert to heist to the middle of nowhere in Scotland. It’s a roller coaster ride and I enjoyed every high and low in this story. If you like art heists, grumpy cops and pop idols going undercover, this will be a treat for you.
