I liked reading of the hard life and the way the wagon trains made do in so many ways. A good lesson for us all to learn when life is so easy

    Lack luster characterization

This book was recommended to me by a discount ebook service based on the reading preferences I listed when joining their site. I am a voracious reader of historical western romances and I have discovered some great titles by authors new to me through this method. I am sorry to say that this book did not engage my emotions or keep my interest. There was not enough depth given to the two main characters, and the secondary characters were not developed enough to be interesting. The ending was abrupt and unexpected, and thoroughly unsatisfying. This book is part of a series, but I've only read this one title.

    A bit predictable

Easy Mills and boon type read. There is little left to the imagination with this plot but for a free book who can complain.

I thought this might be a good book..Wrong. I think I pushed myself to get to the 3 rd chapter before I said. " This is stupid"

This is a great read that has great word pictures as well as how life might have been on the Oregon Trail. I liked the unusual twist in the story. I also appreciated the integrity of the characters and how they were portrayed as a team going through a difficult time. I often found that I could really put myself in the story and really see what they were seeing. Not all authors can do that and that's what makes this story stand out for me.
