Wow. A Smart Spy thriller for grown ups.

An entertaining mix of spy, near future sci-fi and political literary fiction. If you enjoy Clancy-like action, you'll likely enjoy the detailed writing and imaginative narrative in UG. Reading this book is like pealing an onion; there are layers upon layers of complexity that breath life into the world created by the narrative. The book is comprised of three major story lines that interweave to form the overall plot and the diversity and depth the characters are written with, make this story something of a throwback to the popular literary thrillers of the 70's and 80's when readers were credited with having some intelligence and the ability to reason things out for themselves. For the most part, books aren't written like this terribly often anymore. The ebook contains some minor editorial flaws, but is of good overall quality. It is unfortunate though that a print edition is not as yet available. The novel's "epilogue" may leave the reader with more questions than answers, but this may be in keeping with story's themes of the unknowable nature of the world. There certainly is some speculation that a follow-up story may be in the offing as well. The diversity and subtle complexity bestowed on the book's main characters is impressive. A sharp eyed reader will no doubt enjoy unravelling the lives of each of the story's main players. The American Jazz references and choice bits of cultural humor will also amuse readers wishing to enjoy the story on a deeper level. Overall the book is entertaining, loaded with "Easter Eggs" for the keen eyed reader and exceptionally engaging. Well worth the time and at its impressive length; a genuine bargain for anyone interested in getting lost in an intelligent, imaginative thriller written for intelligent grown-ups. I'm giving this book 3.5 stars out of 5. Future editions would greatly benefit from an actual print edition and some minor editing. Happy Reading!
