    lies betrayal abandonment and more

Man what is there to not like about this book. . . okay yes there were somethings that made my head spin but that's the way it's supposed to be right. Anyway this is a crazy story that is made all the more realistic by certain aspects the author added to keep us grounded. The story is very emotional and is reflected through flashbacks that help us understand all they were to each other and how we got to the here and now. The things that were done in the name of family and lies and betrayal from those closest to her just made me want to weep. This author gives us a read that is well written and has more highs and lows than a woman during menopause and I loved/hated every bit of it. You will feel the emotions of the characters and feel the pain and abandonment, the condemnation, the punishment, the anger all of it will come and more. Then and only when you get to the end do you have the entire story and then only then can you take a breath. Awesome story from this new to me author who I will most definitely be reading more of in the near future.

    Just amazing.

5 Apples! Review by Lisa Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog Unsteady by Elizabeth York is one of those books that has everything. From growing up to becoming adults; love; family; mafia touches to the influence of a political figure; even a little bit of mystery. There is just so much about this book to love. All the little aspects that all bloom and/or explode at different points during the story. To the dual point of views that just completes this story. Even though this story is a little over 300 pages, it feels more like 10 pages and its over. The story moves so smoothly that it just keeps you hooked. I don't want to give anything away, but I just am amazed how there is just so much in this story and how well Ms. York put it all together. The parts when your heart just breaks for them to the swoon worthy moments to the life lesson given. Just amazing. Oh did I mention you get to revist old favorites, Brooklyn and Kate!! People come and go out of our lives, but when Logan and London meet at a young age, they have this immediate connection together. Like gravity is pulling them towards each other. But when London lies to Logan and disappears, life can get complicated when your so unsteady. But on a chance flight, gravity still has a way pulling them together. Can they survive the storm brewing in what we call life? Can secrets be forgiven? Can they gain their balance? You just really have to read this book.

    Literary Titan

Unsteady kicks off in chapter one by giving us a glimpse into the childhood lives of its main characters, London and Logan. London and Logan both attend a Catholic boarding school and have similar backgrounds in that they both feel utterly abandoned by their families. The connection that they share as children is very heartfelt and the author does a good job of portraying this. Despite the book seeming rather rushed (which is to be expected from its 313 pages), I think the author also does a fantastic job of getting the reader attached to the characters. I was sufficiently swept away and invested in these characters and wanted to keep reading to see what happens to London and Logan and see how their story unfolds. Unsteady is a steamy romance novel. As for the adult relationships that occur in this book, several of them are of an erotic nature. Logan is certainly a ladies man, there is no mistake about that. He is an airline pilot that tends to have lurid relationships with women all over the world. His behaviors aren’t completely debased; well actually…they are, but rather the reason is somewhat understandable. However, the aspect of the book that I thought could have used some polish was the language used in the erotic encounters. I don’t want to give too much away, but let’s just say that when I see the term “one eyed snake” it doesn’t evoke ideas of romance. The novel is filled with these hot and heavy moments that turn this steamy romance into a erotic story that will keep you wide eyed. This combination will be welcomed by any fan of the romance genre and it is certainly intriguing, but it's marked by a change in tone and story telling. The romance part of the novel is well done, as stated earlier, I was invested in the characters and couldn't wait to see how their relationship turned out. But while the expert writing skill displayed in these romance section easily gets you invested, the writing in the erotic sections of the book doesn't seem to match. I felt like most of the story was written by someone with superb writing skills while the erotic sections were written by a teenager with raging hormones. But I don’t want to make it sound like the book was unreadable though, I enjoyed the suspense of the story and the action surrounding London’s job with the CIA. Overall, this book contains an entertaining story that will leave you biting your nails. Romance novels are about the characters and their relationships, and this book has some alluring characters that get into some... sticky situations.
