    My Fav Book of 2019

6/5 stars. This will be my gift-giving Christmas 2019 book. It is so universal in its appeal. I couldn't put it down! I would savor a chapter then pick the book back up to see what the next story was about. Well researched chapters highlighting various people are tied into Mike's life experiences in such a natural way it was like listening to a friend tell you about his day. My favorite story was that of Alan Hale. Now i will have to be re-watching some old movies to spot him.. I am left with a smile on my face and a happy heart after reading this book. Thank you Mike Rowe and Gallery Books (Simon & Schuster). I volunteered to read an ARC through Net Galley.

    The Way I Heard It

Fans of everything and anything Mike Rowe will enjoy reading this book. I read it cover to cover all in his distinguished voice! Some stories are from his podcasts but it matters not. You come to understand the who, what, when, where and why of the amazing Mr. Mike Rowe.

    Worth Your Time!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in return for an honest review. This is a “ridiculously entertaining, seriously fascinating collection” of Mike Rowe’s favorite episodes from his podcast.  For a brief time, I listened to the podcast at work, but found myself drifting off and neglecting work to concentrate on the story being told.  This collection of 35 stories  will engage you completely. Each is told in two parts. The first tells the story of the character whose identity is hidden until the end, so don’t peek ahead.  The second part is Mike Rowe, the storyteller, weaving the story around to some facet of his life. He’s an interesting guy with a great sense of humor, and a conversational tone to his writing. Kind of like Paul Harvey. As I’ve seen other reviewers mention, the entire time you are reading, it is Mike Rowe’s voice in your head!  This is a great collection of facts and insights that will be hard to put down.  Delightful and uplifting from start to finish, this one is so worth your time!
