Fell a little flat for me

I am actually giving this a 3.5 rating. Everyone reads the same book differently and I am sad to say that this one didn’t do much for me. I have been sitting on my review because I have been conflicted because I usually love this author’s work. It’s a solid read but I will explain why it fell flat for me. This is the first time I have read the Woodlands series and it seems like a great series. This is a stand-alone and you don’t need to read the previous books to enjoy this book. I loved the main characters, Adam Rees and Landry Olsen. They were great characters, but there was a disconnect for me with them. They had chemistry that was off the charts, but I couldn’t connect to them and I don’t know why. I’m not sure if it was because they took so long to get together or because of the secretive relationship that you really couldn’t feel their relationship develop. There is a lot going on in the story and it was a quick read that kept me interested, however, the ending felt rushed and left me wanting more. The stalker issue was woven throughout the story, but when things finally shook out, it was anticlimactic for me. By all means this is my personal opinion and if you love rock star romance with a nerdy quirky heroine and sexy rock star, give this book a try.
