  • Well Done!

For all the fans of the master Robert Heinlein, a final book written posthumously with Spider Robinson. This has all the flavor of a Heinlein juvenile, such as Tunnel In The Sky or Starship Troopers. Kudos to Spider Robinson on a job well done.(I can't believe it took me over ten years to find out about it)

  • What a Heinlein-Robinson!

I haven't been so excited about finding a book in a very long time. Heinlein was my favourite as a teenager. I read Citizen of the Galaxy once a year for almost 20 years. I lost interest in RAH somewhere in the distant future as Lazarus Long kept on keeping on but the teen novels have held a place in my heart and mind for more than 50 years now. Spider has done a wonderful job! I'd swear the writer was equal parts RAH & Spider, RAH with a slightly better sense of humour but an equally wonderful sense of plot and dialogue. A great story!

  • Calahan's cross-time saloon does a free lunch

I too grew up, wolfing down Heinlein and later, Spider Robinson. This book is a gift for fans. I thought I had outgrown Heinlein at age thirty. I was wrong. This collaboration between two Giants of the genre was like many hibryds, greater than the sum of its parts. If you are a fan of either, read this book.

  • Variable Star

Excellent read. Full of humor. Unpredictable as any good story should be. Could have enjoyed another couple hundred pages.
