    Waistcoars & Weponry

Loved, loved, loved this book. It was wonderful seeing the children of the original characters grown up and out on their own. They are every bit as outrageous as their parents so it made for great dialogue and great fashions!

    Waistcoats & Weaponry

Another entertaining read from Gail Carrier. Her characters are engaging and her plotting keeps you guessing even when you think you know how the characters think.

    Just OK.

I'm a long time Gail Carriger fan. Proof: I'm an adult reading a YA novel. This was not one of her better novels. I found it got bogged down in politics, particularly in the second half. This was odd given that this book is written for young adults. I couldn't imagine a young adult actually enjoying the drawn-out political discussions among the characters, with next to no action. It's usually interspersed better with action to keep things moving, even in her adult books. However, even an OK Gail Carriger novel is an enjoyable novel, if you're a fan of the universe she's created. As a back story for her adult novels, it continues to deliver the goods.
