    WOW!

Dystopian story with interesting well developed characters. One of those stories that annoy you because you want to keep reading but you know you do need to get at least a little sleep. It's the first novel I have read by this author but it has definitely created an interest to read more by him. The ending is Hitchcockian (if that's a word) and wrapped up the story in the best possible way. I will be recommending the book widely.

    Whew! What a read!

This is more than a book, it's an epic journey. It takes you on a page turning trip of horror, suspense, redemption, and revelations. Great characters with complex relationships, set in a world faced with creeping (and creepy) doom. A hard book to put down, and even harder to get out of your head once you're finished.

I really wanted to love you...

I'm pretty well obsessed with post-apocalyptic novels and love one that is unique and not just zombies taking over the world...something that could 'really' happen...this does not really fall into that category for me, but it had so many good reviews I thought I'd give it a go. More than half the exhaustingly long book is set-up and quite frankly the payoff at the end was only because I was happy to be finally finished with it. I was trying hard to read between the lines and listen to the current political/religious climate that it often seems to reference, but it sort of petered out somewhere along the way for me. If you want a LONG read, here's your book.

    Great story telling

I loved the character development and the dialogue was realistic. I loved how the story all came together and how each player contributed. It was a good, long book. Got my moneys worth. Never boring. Kept me on my toes.

    Solid

This book, although long, was a really easy and quick read. There are lots of pop-culture references that are now valid but may make the book age poorly. That being said, the setting was interesting. I would have liked for there to be more meat in the middle when everything goes to hell rather than the long slow build up at the beginning, but that is a relatively minor complaint. As far as end-of-the-world stories go, this was solid.
