  • Really exciting!

I ended up liking this book quite a bit. I was actually surprised just how much I did like it. Once I started reading, I was somewhat mesmerized by this futuristic world. I thought that it was a little different than the books that I usually pick up and I found myself enjoying the originality. I am so glad that I finally decided to pick up this entertaining read. This book opens with a bang. Quite literally. Mari is sent to do a job and things go horribly wrong. Before she knows it, she is on the run with her handler, Heron. It quickly becomes apparent that Heron is more than he appears to be on the surface. I really liked Mari and Heron and thought that the chemistry between them was very well done. I loved the fact that there were a few surprises in the book that I did not see coming which kept things very interesting. Johanna Parker did a wonderful job with the narration. I have had a lot of luck with this narrator in the past and she did not disappoint. I liked the various voices that she used and I thought that she added a lot of excitement and emotion to the story. She has a very pleasant voice and I feel that her narration added to y overall enjoyment of the story. I would recommend this book to others. This book had a lot of things going for it with its futuristic setting, great characters, a lot of action, and a swoon-worthy romance. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
