  • A sweet holidays tale

Will her origins and his rank tear them apart... Mrs Cameron has a talent for portraying fated lovers, and this new couple is the perfect exemple. For Baxter and Justina, it was love at first sight but both harbor secrets, secrets which could change the outcome of their burgeoning romance. Justina is a sweet and quiet miss, happy of her life with her aunt, a woman who sacrificed everything to raise her as she decided she deserved. Upon her encounter with Baxter, she realizes he is everything she could dream. Baxter prefers the simple life of a man in trade than the one of the peer. And while he is both, he impersonates his favorite self when outside London, thus he met Justina as he simple hotel’s owner, not the Duke he is too. Their romance is an easy one as there is no doubt about their attraction, it is more their place in society that makes Justina questions her feelings and Baxter be caution. A sweet 4 stars tale.

  • I love guys that wink!

I read Wedding Her Christmas Duke when I was given an eARC of this novella which was originally in a boxed set offered before the holidays. Luckily, it is now available as a standalone work. I was enchanted with the story and the characters. Ms. Cameron has a talent for writing delightful works that have witty characters both main and secondary, engaging stories using tropes that are familiar yet can captivate and maintain my interest, lots of droll humor, a nasty character or two, and what I love above all, lightly sweet yet deliciously spicy romance. Plus, the author quite often incorporates in her works some memorable animal characters. It was a joy to read this book. Justina Farthington and her protagonist Baxter Bathhurst are not who they seem. Both are hiding secrets that could perhaps destroy each one of them. Baxter is the perfect guy. He has integrity, he cares for others who’ve maybe had a hard time, wants to be useful to society, and protect those he cares for. Justina is a feisty but perfect foil for him. When Baxter first saw her, “he’d connected to her from the moment he’d seen her.” And he had me when he caught her looking at him from the greenhouse and winked at her. I love guys who wink! Justina was fascinated with him too…who was he, where did he come from, who are his parents, etc. Justina chides herself, calling herself with several names I chuckle at when Ms. Cameron uses them so well in her prose…Ninny, Pea goose, Twiddlepoop, Balderdash, etc. There are a few events that are not in our hero or heroine’s control that threaten their romance. But once secrets come to light and amends are made, they find their HEA. I happily rate this work 5 stars.

  • Happy Christmas

Delayed in Bath due to bad weather, Justina Farthington and her Aunt Emily Grenville finally find accommodations at the Bathhurst Hotel and Spa. Baxter Bathhurst, the owner of the hotel and Justina are taken with each other. They get to know each other, and Baxter promises to call on her as soon as he takes care of a problem at another of his businesses. When he doesn’t show up before she and her aunt leave for the Sutcliffe Christmastide house party, she decides he wasn’t serious. She is surprised when he appears at the house party. She is shocked and dismayed when she learns he Duke of San Sebastian, and kept it a secret from her. Can Baxter persuade Justina to talk to him? Can he convince her that he cares for her? Can Justina tell him her secret, when it might keep them apart? Baxter is a wonderful hero. He takes care of his estates and business and the people who work for him. He is honorable (except for that one little lie of omission), kind, caring, and protective. Justina is spunky and sweet, perfect for Baxter. The other characters, especially those at the house party, are delightfully entertaining. This is a quick happy holiday tale and another success for the Sutcliffe Christmastide house party.

  • Delightfully Sweet and Spicy

Ms. Cameron writes the most delightful stories of love and romance. It was love at first sight for Justina and Baxter but both were keeping secrets that might not be received well when discovered. The author has such a way of creating the most delightful characters and scenarios and her prose is always so lovely. Baxter was a wonderful noble hero. Justina and Baxter meet when she and her aunt are snowed in at his hotel. Baxter, a Duke leading a double life, who’d rather spend his time running his hotels than seeking a wife from the ton because he feels they are all seeking his title and his money finds everything he never knew he wanted in Justina. Justine was definitely smitten after he winked at her. When he goes out of town to solve a problem at one of his other businesses, he promises to come call on Justina when he returns but fails to return leaving her heartbroken. She and her aunt make their way to the house party where they meet again. This is such a sweet and spicy romance I was captivated from the start. I loved the witty dialogue, her imagery, her characters and the way she makes you feel a part of the story. Thank you so much Ms. Cameron for this charming and sweet love story.

  • Delightful

"Tantalizing. Fascinating. Enthralling. And so many more words ending in ing."Oh yes, Baxter Bathhurst, was that and so much more. A Scot, now an English Duke. A man who had a collection of the wounded. Birds, dogs, employees and yes, he was swoonworthy. Sorry I digress... On their way back home to Bristol, due to the snow, Justina and her Aunt Emily, had to seek shelter in Bath and they ended up at a new establishment, the Bathhurst Hotel and Spa. It was owned by Baxter and as he and Justina met, the attraction was almost instant. Of course they both had secrets... Nobody knew he was a Duke and Emily had her own secret. Fate steps in and they meet again at the Sutcliffes' Christmastide house party. I will leave it at that although I want to tell you the entire story, it is so wonderful, marvelous, heartwarming and ... well it is written by one of my very favorite authors, so what more can you expect? The perfect Christmastide romance.. with snow.. BUT Balderdash I want Aunt Emily's story!!
