    Smashing Success

A smashing success. Ronan and Imogen are being forced into a betrothal and have drawn the battle lines. Both are stubborn and fiercely independent which lead to plenty of sparks. It is an emotional roller coaster as you will laugh at all the antics they get up to as well as sigh in anguish at the pain Imogen is reliving. They have to struggle against those who would like to tear them apart by force as well. I love the witty repertoire and the fight in the female characters in this story and the series. You will enjoy not one single minute of boredom as you turn the pages to the end of their well deserved happiness.

    Great Book

This is the first book I've read by these authors and I really enjoyed it. I hadn't realized that this book was part of a series, however, you don't need to have read the series to enjoy the story. Although, after enjoying this book I intend to go back and read the previous books in the series. This book is about Ronan and Imogen and how they plan to trick the other person to back out of the betrothal contract that their parents had signed. Both of the characters would experience significant losses if he/she backs out of the contract so they are trying to get the other person to back out first. Ronan and Imogen have both experienced negative things when it comes to love in the past and have zero desire to marry anyone. I really enjoyed the banter between the two characters and reading about them falling in love. The antics the two of them acted upon had me laughing out loud one minute and then just wanting to smack them another moment. I loved how Ronan is the first person to stand up for his family and the people he loves. The way Ronan stood by Imogen's side when her traumatic past came to light for the other characters (not the reader...we discover early on what happened to her) was phenomenal and demonstrated the true depth of Ronan's character. Imogen did have a very traumatic experience, which drove the story for the villain, so please be aware of that while reading the story. That being said, overall, I really did enjoy the story, the interactions between Ronan and Imogen were nothing less than superb and the secondary characters add additional depth to the story (especially if you have already read the previous books in the series). Now it's time for me to go and read the other books in the series!! *I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own

    What a Scot Wants

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This book was a wonderful story and I wished that I could give it more stars than 5. It reminds me of why I LOVE historical romance. I took my time reading this as I was savoring it. These two characters were a joy to read. What they were going to do next kept me glued to my e-reader. Both Highlander Ronan Maclaren and Lady Imogen Kinley are being forced to marry. Neither of them have married due to incidents in each of their past. Neither can they forfeit for it they do, each will lose something valuable to them. They have to get the other to cry off. They were hilarious in their early attempts. I could really picture the scenes as the writers really did great job in giving just enough description and left the rest for me to fill in. The journey to a HEA was filled with laughs, intrigue, mystery and prior love interests on each side. I adored the dual POV format that the story is written in. Getting that glimpse into the thoughts behind the characters' actions really helped me to connect with them. It also allowed me to see the chemistry between them. I have not read any of the prior books in this series or the books in the other series that dealt with Ronan's family. That didn't impede me from enjoying this story. There was one scene that could make offend some. It was of a sexual scene that was written in a manner that really should not offend as it left much more to the reader's imagination. If you love historical romance, then this is one for you. I highly recommend it!!!

    Hard time putting it down

This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster from beginning to end. We meet Ronan and Imogen as they individually discover their parents entered a betrothal contract. They each decide to make the other back out by any means necessary. There were parts that made me laugh, want to punch someone in the face, slap someone in the face, and sad. I really enjoyed their banter. And had a hard time putting it down. Now I need to go back and read the first two books in the series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. #NetGalley #WhatAscotWants

Both Ronan and Imogen work hard to get the other to break the engagement. However, there are other forces working against them, some dangerous and some just an inconvenience. Can the two fight through all that is thrown at them and overcome what they think the want to find true happiness? This is a light, easy read book that makes you realize that what you think you need to be happy may not always be what your heart desires.
