  • Enjoyable

4 Star Review of What Tears Us Down (Arrow Creek #3) by A.M. Wilson A.M. Wilson is a relatively new author to me and what I have read I enjoyed and this was no exception. It was good to be back in Arrow Creek and this time Rhett Senova is in the spotlight with the woman who convinced him to take another chance on love and helped him learn to trust again, Evie Harris. Having been badly burnt by his ex wife and left to raise his son Tommy, Rhett has become a player, determined not to commit to a relationship again. However he didn’t count on a feisty, sassy stranger with a pit bull who brought him to his knees. The fact that he gets the vibe that she may be in trouble and needs help just adds to his attraction for her. Together these two made a great couple and I loved the relationship that Rhett had with his son as well as the relationship that Evie forged with him. Their journey to a happily every after was rocky, but it was so worth it in the end. The characters were entertaining and the story was well written. Angsty at times and heart warming it made me laugh and brought tears to my eyes.

  • complex, heartfelt and intensely emotional

What Tears Us Down by A.M. Wilson hit me with unpredictable feelings with unexpected strength. This was a complex, heartfelt and intensely emotional love story of two broken and resilient souls. Rhett and Evie both are amazing characters with so many layers, complex past, fractured hearts and an unputdownable fire. The author's captivating writing brings the angsty and heartaching happily ever after for them.A.M. Wilson has won my heart fair and square with her intriguing storytelling in What Tears Us Down. It is my first book by her but won't be my last one. I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

  • enjoyable read

Another enjoyable read by A.M. Wilson. Rhett and Evie are both getting over failed relationships and having a hard time with it. They meet in a truck stop parking lot and from there things get interesting. Rhett has gotten the reputation since as a playboy. Going through women like water. Becoming a person so different than what he used to be. When he meets Evie, he realizes how different she is from the other women he has met. He finds himself wanting to spend time with her and get to know her. He knows she is running from something, and he wants to help. Evie wants to do things on her own and she is unwilling to take anything from anyone. After her parents died her brother raised her and she has never been on her own. She wants to prove that she can take care of herself. Her current living arrangements show otherwise but she has a plan, and she will see it through. A special friendship develops between Evie and Rhett. Nights spent eating takeout under the stars in their cars. A connection develops when they weren’t expecting it. Their story is a love story neither one was looking for but somehow found. Once you start their journey you cannot wait to see what happens next and therefore unable to put it down.

  • Touched me on so many levels

What Tears Us Down is book 3 in the Arrow Creek Series but it can certainly be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone although I’m sure one visit to Arrow Creek will never be enough. This is Rhett Senova and Evie Harris’s journey and for me this is the best so far in the Arrow Creek Series. Rhett has been badly burnt by his ex wife and now the only person occupying his dreams is his son Tommy, he is not looking for relationship until a stranger walked into town, a strong and sassy woman who is giving off a vibe he can’t quite get his head around. Can Evie get Rhett to trust again, can she make him want more than just one night……. This book has it all, it will make you smile, it will tug on your heartstrings and it will captivate you. I loved everything about this story , it touched me on so many levels, I smiled and laughed at the witty banter but it was the hurt, the hope and the love that took this book to another level.

  • Inspiring and heart wrenching

Rhett and Evie’s story grabbed me right out of the gate. I wouldn’t call their first encounter a meet-cute, but it was definitely unique, as well as sad. Rhett is very protective of this woman that he’s just met, but Evie doesn’t want or need anyone telling her what to do or to watch over her. She just needs to get back on her feet. Through a series of coincidences, their lives intersect outside of their own interactions, some of which are revealed sooner than others. Rhett is trying to get his life back as well, especially where his son is concerned. The way they support each other is wonderful. I shed a tear or two, as well as felt a lot of anger on their behaves, as their story unfolds. Their chemistry was undeniable and their push to get out from under the burdens holding them down…while growing both a friendship and deeper feelings for the other. From start to finish, Rhett and Evie were both real and inspiring. I loved them as a couple and individuals.
