Move over Becky Bloomwood - More cake please

So many laugh-out-loud moments I didn't want to put the book down! The ending left a warm joyful feeling. I hope to read more from Claire Sandy soon. If you love Kinsella's Becky Bloomwood you'll love Claire Sandy's Marie Dunwoody. Busy, contented mother of 3, Marie Dunwoody is happily married to her retail buyer husband Robert. She is also a dentist with her own practice. When her twin daughters inform her she's got 20 minutes to come up with the school's annual fundraising show stopper dessert she manages to whip up a creation made from mini-mart French Fancies. This doesn't get the reception that her perfect neighbour Lucy's professional looking home made cake does. Marie buys a used book at the fete. A baking cookbook authored by Mary Berry. She sets out to learn to bake a show stopper for next year's fete while facing all the challenges of her busy life. Absolutely loved this book.

    What Would Mary Berry Do?

I didn't want this book to end, as it was such a cosy feelgood read. Any fans of Mary Berry and the Great British Bake Off (Paul Hollywood gets a mention too) will enjoy. Some really funny moments which I could all too easily relate to. Highly recommended. I know I will reread it one day.

    A fun easy read

I enjoyed the easy relaxed style of writing and thought the characters personalities came across really well. I loved Marie and thought the author had really captured the issues of family life in a realistic and amusing way. As for the twins - brilliant.

Loved it! Of you are going to the beach or just curling up in your chair, read this book, light reading at its best, don't forget your slice of cake though
