    Wheat Belly

Really just a carbohydrate reduced diet under the guise of scientific fact. Really very little fact and more conjecture.

Sounds good, but impossible to follow

I loved all the technical medical information. The major problem is that unless you have ample time, and like to cook, you can't make this happen. You cannot eat anything within a decent price range, have to cut out just about everything you eat now, and the big one - you have to cook! I'm glad I do not have celiac disease as eating healthy is hard enough without cutting out wheat. Unfortunately, I am a picky eater and though there are extensive lists of thing to replace what I'm eating, I do not like any of them. My only vegetable that I do like, potatoes, are banned as well, even though it has no wheat in it. Also, the FDA has 3-5 servings of fruit per day, but this book states you need to stay away from fruit due to a spike in blood glucose.

May be useful for folks allergic to gluten

Interesting read. Got me thinking about quitting wheat but I haven’t done so. On the opposite, I have become a vegetarian and also quit most forms of dairy and switched to almond, soy milk. This book is the direct opposite of that philosophy. Given my lifestyle changes and giving up meat entirely I can no longer venerate this book. It may be useful for folks who think they are allergic to gluten.

Loved reading every page of this book! I'm now attempting a wheat-free diet. I have had several resets so hopefully i'll get the hang of it soon :) Thank you Dr. William Davis!!
