    Whitney, My Love

Although Judith McNaught did succeed in going further than an almost bodice-ripping, almost steamy rom com, it became apparent that a highly skilled counsellor was needed to resolve the tension between the 2 main characters. Whitney, an unusual name in this period, is named after Judith's daughter; I enjoy her strong character but often wondered how a mother could truly write a steamy novel without having a few concerns as to how far she would go.... I'm sure many enjoy this genre, and the writing was pretty good. This novel, however, is reminiscent of Harlequin romances of the 1970s, only longer than the formula and punctuated with some slightly suggestive interactions.

    Whitney, my love

Loved it. Loved the twists and turns; but what I liked most was that the was different from the usual romance novels. They had to fight to get each other. I liked that there was someone else and she didn't make it easy for him. I couldn't stop reading.

    Stupid

Storyline was hard to follow and characters were difficult to like.

Some Books You Just Can’t Unread

While I enjoyed the author’s writing style, the characters were volatile and shallow. The same pattern of distrust and abuse were played out in scenario after scenario. It became exhausting to read and I came to the point of thinking “and now what” as this lengthy book continued on. Also, in the very last chapters, a new story line was introduced around the character Steven, only to suddenly be dropped. I honestly thought this would become the next sequel in the Westmoreland series, but alas it was not. Some authors leave me eager to devour their next book ... not this one.

    Whitney My Love

I have never read a story by Judith McNaught that I haven't loved, and this is no exception. It is also the second time I've read it, but it certainly won't be the last
