  • He isn't like his father, is he?

How could you not love Rafe and his whole family. When Rafe's friends started finding love, Rafe was sure that would never happen to him. He looks like his father and everyone says that he is just like him. Rafe doesn't want to be, but can he ever be the long haul one. Erin is one of those who are in it for the long haul. She deserves better than him and he would probably just break her heart. When his brother starts hanging out with Erin, he knows he has to stay away from her. But when Shane has an accident, Rafe and Erin grow closer. He feels guilty for wanting her so much, but he can't help it. Erin has been pushed aside by her family for most of her life, she does deserve someone who will think of her and not just as an after thought. She really wants Rafe, but can he get over his hang ups?

  • Ladies Man

I enjoyed reading Wild Card by Christie Ridgway, book five in her 7-Card Stud series. It is a wonderful, sizzling story focusing on family, friendship, sizzling chemistry, and magnetic attraction between Rafael Rodriguez and Erin Arthur. Rafael is the consummate ladies man, avoiding commitments left and right. He might look like his father but he was determined not to ever be like him; a bigamist with two families. Raf knows he shouldn’t pursue Erin. After all, the first time he saw her she was on the arm of his best friend and half-brother, Shane. He’s torn as she is the first woman to interest him in a while. As the two keep running into each other, Raf decides to fold his cards and give into the chemistry, attraction and desire growing between them. She might prove to be his biggest gamble of all. Erin struggles to resist the devil-may-care Rafael, despite everyone telling her he’s not the kind of man for the long term. Erin must decide if she can risk her heart for whatever he might offer or play it safe, and protect her heart. Ms. Ridgway is a wonderful story teller who wrote an emotionally rich and moving story filled with sizzling chemistry, a few twists and turns, amusing dialogue, and endearing characters that is definitely not to be missed. I truly enjoyed watching the relationship between these two grow and seeing Raf, brought to his knees by Erin, who is truly his match. I highly recommend Wild Card to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

  • Be Yourself Romance

Wild Card is the fifth of the 7 Stud Club Series by Christie Ridgway with Raf Rodriguez as the main male character. He is one male who comes across as confident, suave and polished but inside he is a man with conflicting views of himself. Erin Arthur think that she is the one who is one hot mess but it really is Raf. Then these two have such different family histories that they almost seem like opposites. However, their views on loyalty and family are right in line with the other’s. Raf’s family drama and sibling’s accident puts the stress on Raf as well as Erin’s grandmother’s health does on her. No wonder these two irresistible characters never have the honest believable conversation that is needed or is it that Raf can’t listen for all the talk going on in his head. Great story with the loner of the poker group. Only two more guys to go. It’s time for Shane to get his HEA. Wonder if Raf will play matchmaker for him! 4.5 Stars The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

  • A great couple added to the 7 Stud Club series

In this book, Raf is drawn to Erin even though he thinks she is his brother’s girl. Erin also is drawn to Raf and they have a hard time resisting the attraction they have for each other. Raf and his brother Shane are remarkably close, and Shane is unavailable to confirm Erin’s statement that she and Shane are just friends. I enjoyed the interplay between the characters and especially Raf and Shane’s unusually blended family. Raf is also worried that he is too much like his father to have a lasting relationship and knows Erin is a long-term kind of person even though he is the glue that holds the family together. And to top the conflicts, Erin is dealing with her beloved Grandmother’s dementia. A great addition to the 7 Stud Club series!
