This story was awesome, it kept me guessing right through . When it ended I was disappointed, I could have kept reading their story forever

    Wild Heat

A great story with action and romance. Kept me guessing on the whodunit til almost the end. Believable scenes about fighting wildfires and a satisfying love story. Will look for others in this series.

    Not So Wild

I've read several of Bella Andre's books and loved them all. This one, not so much. I liked the plot, loved the hero - hot, hunky "hotshot" Logan Cain. His character was multi-faceted and convincing. The heroine Maya Jackson was supposed to be a professional arson investigator with a sterling track record but her character tired me out with her back and forth inner musings. He's guilty - no, he can't be; the evidence doesn't lie but my gut says he's innocent; I'm not attracted to him - I keep imagining his hands all over me; it's wrong to want him - I don't care if it's wrong, it feels right; he's responsible for my brother's death - no, he couldn't be; on and on. Hard to believe her character 'cuz she was so mercurial in her thoughts, words and actions and the pacing really suffered because of it. I realize an author tries to create tension to get the reader invested and hold them through to the end but about half of this was just boring. I almost gave up on it several times but decided to start skimming it instead. Somewhere in the last quarter of the book it picked up and actually held my attention. Aside from that, the quality of the writing as well as the writing style are not up to the standard I've come to expect from Ms Andre. The publication date is 2009 which puts it earlier in her writing career but still.... If this had been the first book I read by Bella Andre it would also have been the last. Thankfully, that isn't the case.
