After reading Rough & Tumble I became an instant fan of this author's writing. Her writing style is easygoing and she combines it with suspense and well fleshed-out characters. This recipe continues in Wild & Sweet. Gabe is about to feed her vacationing neighbor's cat when she runs into a burglar. Social Anxiety Disorder makes it hard for her to deal with strangers so having her injuries examined by paramedics? Nope, not gonna happen. Zeke is with Gabe's brother when Danny receives a call that his sister got hurt. Being a trauma doctor Zeke knows what to do and they both rush to her. Gabrielle isn't comfortable with Zeke examining her either but she trusts her brother. Over the course of the next weeks Zeke takes care of the girl's medical needs. Little by little he tears down her walls and gives her the courage to face her fears. He slays her dragons and has her back while she dips her toe into the unknown waters of being and talking with people. But can a highly educated doctor love a simple mechanic? Gabe feels most comfortable under a car, the quiet and calm wile working give her room to let her thoughts wander. She is shy but has this sweetness about her and from the get-go Zeke feels a fierce protective impulse. This heroine has so many hangups it tore my heart apart while reading. Her biggest fear is being abandoned and left behind by those she loves. Gabrielle is all kinds of sweet and endearing. She might come off a little bit standoffish in the beginning, however, as soon as I realized how crippling her disorder was I gave her plenty of leeway. It was also her genuine willingness to tackle her anxiety that made me look past the hiccups along the way. Her transformation from socially awkward to being comfortable in a social setting happens gradually with baby steps. alpha, so HOT, so smart, so generous. His tenderness and sweetness gutted me. (Calling dibs btw.). I didn't think that Jace could be topped but wow. Rhenna Morgan gives us a man to die for, to pant after and to swoon over. As soon as he knows that Gabe is relationship material he goes all in and lays it out. There is no uncertainty about what he wants. He helps her to get out of her head and at the same time he reveals the woman behind the tomboy. With his encouragement Gabe also starts owning her femininity. And wile he gives her strength and empowerment this girl calms Zeke's constant buzz under his skin and his hair trigger temper. What he usually soothed with high octane sports he now assuages just by being with Gabrielle. Again we are let into the close camaraderie of the Brotherhood. I loved seeing Jace's flavor of sweetness projected on Gabrielle. I am convinced that this author will continue to up the ante with every book. We have the story of a cowboy ahead of us and a hot nerd and best of all a man-ho Scot with a huge heart. I am so looking forward to Axel's story. Rhenna Morgan delivers an utterly romantic tale of two polar opposite characters who just work because they are so different. They give each other what they need. This story offered everything I expected. There were smiles and deep emotions and a little bit of righteous anger. I loved every word. I fell so hard for Zeke and Gabe, they still linger in my mind. Next up is Trevor and I can't wait to get my hands on him but I'm sure I'll love him just as much as Jace and Zeke.

  • Contemporary Romance

Wild & Sweet by Rhenna Morgan The Haven Brotherhood #2 Sweet, sweet S W E E T read…with a whole lot of Wild ;) I loved the first book in the series and could not wait to read the second AND now I can’t wait to read the third…wonder just how long I will have to wait? There were two then eventually six and by the end of this book seven men in the Haven Brotherhood. What is the Brotherhood? It is a group of men who have chosen one another to be brothers of the heart – not necessarily of the blood. They are there for one another no matter what. If there is a problem – they will find a solution. If the solution is within the gray area of legality – they still just might go there BUT they never hurt innocents and anyone claimed by a brother will be protected. I love the premise, the brothers and so far both of the books. Haven brother Dr. Zeke Dugan, Emergency Room medical doctor and adrenaline junkie has just come off a shift when his friend Danny’s sister calls – there is a problem – she has been hurt. Danny, Zeke and a few of the brothers head off to see what is what. Gabrielle Parker is leery of strangers and has quite a few questions after having her injury treated. Well, questions are and are not easy to answer and she is not the only one doing some questioning. Zeke has been poleaxed by this latest meet-up with Gabrielle. It takes him a bit of time to come to terms with his feelings but then he is all in and the story takes off with activities, dates, meeting of brotherhood members and more. Add into the plot some nefarious and deadly characters, and things get a wee bit tense for a chapter or so. By the end all is well, a new brother has been added and a woman has been claimed. I am EAGER to see which man finds his woman next! I kind of wonder if Gabrielle’s new friend might end up with one of the guys or if she was just there to become a friend of Gabrielle’s. Did I like the book? Yes Will you like the book? I definitely think you will How was Zeke as a book boyfriend? Dreamy What did I think of Gabrielle? She was unique, a fighter and willing to grow Do I want to read more in the series? No doubt about it – I do indeed Thank you to NetGalleyl and Carina Press for the ARC. This is my honest review. 5 Stars

  • Awesome

The Haven Brotherhood is back at it in this latest installment in the series. This is the second book but can easily be read standalone. This band of life brothers who have chosen to live by their rules and their own moral compasses may look like your run of the mill guys around town but when someone threatens one of their own the gloves come off. Zeke Dugan is an ER trauma doc and is willing to put his medical skills to work anytime the brotherhood needs them. Meeting Gabrielle "Gabe" Parker, the sister of a potential brotherhood member, not only calls his skills into play but also his protective nature. He's immediately drawn to her but she's a straight arrow, always playing by the rules as well as an introvert. Much happier under the hood of a car than talking to another person. His lifestyle may not work well with hers but he'll do anything to make sure she's safe. I highly recommend this one.

  • Loved it!

'Wild & Sweet' by Rhenna Morgan is book Two in the "Haven Brotherhood" series. This is the story of Zeke Dugan and Gabrielle Parker 'Gabe'. I haven't yet read the previous book in this series, so for me this was a standalone book. Gabe was raised by her father and brother Danny. Danny has found some new friends and wanting to join the Haven Brotherhood. Zeke is one of the members and they question among themselves who Danny's sister is When Gabe is hurt after a neighborhood break in, Zeke goes with Danny to check on Gabe. When Zeke and Gabe meet for the first time they are very much attracted to one another. But Gabe suffers from anxiety and doesn't interact much with people. Zeke is a DR and understands her issues. We see their relationship slowly grow into love. There is some drama in this book but I just loved these two characters together. Zeke was what Gabe needed and she was what he needed. "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."
