    Hot MC / shifter story.

Hot MC / shifter story, but it’s not a ménage like the cover would lead you to believe. MC stories are not my favorite but I like books by Anne Marsh, and I’ve read the other two Bayou Wolves books, so I wanted to read this one. Although this is the third book in the series it stands alone just fine. You might enjoy it a bit more if you have the history from books one and two, though. Jace has to decide whether to challenge the current alpha of the Breeds pack and take over. The pack certainly needs cleaned up and Jace knows he can challenge and beat the current alpha. Keelie is the alpha’s daughter and he is one mean S-O-B. Keelie has tried to leave the pack several times but her father always sends someone after her and then beats her; she knows if she tries to leave again he’ll kill her. Keelie is attracted to Jace but she is so done with being ordered around and hurt. She doesn’t really trust Jace and that’s a big problem for him. Jace wants her for his mate but he comes on a bit strong and that turns Keelie off. He finally realizes that he might have to let her go in order for her to trust him. This story is hot and contains lots of sex and strong language. There are also a few scenes that some people might find objectionable (questionable consent to sex). I felt that this one was a bit on the crude side for me, especially compared to the other two stories. I think that just might be because it’s an MC story. I’ve started to read one or two other MC stories in the past and not finished them because the crudeness just doesn’t appeal to me. I have no objection to the strong language, or sex, it’s more the thoughts and actions of some of the characters that bother me. But, if you like hot werewolves and MC stories this one should be right up your alley. I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

It's an unexpected blend of sweet and nasty

It's an unexpected blend of sweet and nasty. Keelie Sue has been through some brutal experiences that no one should ever have to live through. They've left her scarred, physically and emotionally, and unwilling to trust anyone. Especially dominant alpha shifters like Jace. And Jace is a true Dominant in every sense of that word. It's his way or the highway, and his way is to look after those he's responsible for. I loved watching these two "grow up" for each other. Seeing Keelie learn to trust and Jace step into his responsibilities as Alpha was a pleasure. I understand why Keelie fought so hard against accepting a relationship with Jace, but there were times that it was just so frustrating that she continued to fight it. Jace isn't a romantic, and yet his every action screams how much she means to him. I am very interested now in this shifter MC and will be exploring the other books in the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book.

    Wolf's Heart

The last thing Keelie Sue Berard needs is one more wolf in her life, but to keep the peace between two rival packs, Jace Jones agrees to become the alpha of The Breed pack but that means mating the former alpha’s daughter in this riveting paranormal romance. Keelie’s kept her mouth shut and her head down in order to survive but she’ll do whatever it takes to walk away free to live her own life and the reader can’t help but get caught up in this rocky relationship as Jace attempts to teach Keelie her place. The chemistry is certainly hot enough to catch anyone’s attention even these two stubborn characters but the relationship between Keelie and Jace is full of emotional turmoil that keeps putting up road blocks on both their sides and these strong compelling characters warrant readers paying attention as they navigate the scorching passion and the pitfalls of the pack politics which adds a lot of excitement to the story as the Alpha of The Breed have some bad plans for Jace and Keelie in this well written, fast paced and smooth flowing plot full of suspense, excitement and passion. I recommend that this series be read in order although you can read this book with doing so and enjoy the story because I did but it will be obvious that you missed you a few things along the way.
