    Loved it

I loved this story!! It's the fifth in a series but you can pick up any of these and not feel lost. That's how I got hooked on this series! This book is Vinnie and Shayla's story. Vinnie enjoys his life with the MC. He's happy being single and living at the compound. Having an old lady of his own has never been on his radar. Then Talon calls in his marker which puts him in Shayla's life as protector. Because of the actions of her father Shayla's life is in danger. Vinnie finds himself drawn to this woman and even though she's Talon's cousin he knows he wants to make her his and will do whatever is needed to keep her safe. So he takes her the Wind Dragons compound and asks the Club to help him protect her. I definitely recommend this one!

another on your edge of your seat ride!

I have been following this series since the beginning and I thought Sin was hot, then there was Tracker... and so on.. well enter Vinnie. I always loved his spark in the other books that lead up to his own but when he gets the spotlight, he does not disappoint. The connection that him and Shay have right off the bat is amazing as well as their banter. In the span of a small amount of time, these two have a higher connection that was bundled in this epic tale surrounding the reason why Vinnie is there protecting her. I love how they try to resist each other and it fails as well. When things hit the fan, and Vinnie brings her to the club, it seems that they all mesh so well together that you would think they were friends forever. The backstory to this one is rather interesting too and it ties into Talon and his MC as well. I love the continuation of this storyline and I am seriously dying to know more! Overall, I think this one has to be one of my favorites so far out of the series. I laughed. I cried. I yelled at Vinnie for being a douche. I grimaced with Shay for some of the stunts she pulls. The character build is great as well as you get to see all the past characters that add a lot of depth to the story. I need more though.. am dying here!!

    Awesome, loved Vinnie's story

Finally we have Vinnie's book. I have loved Vinnie from the very beginning and was so excited he was getting his own book. All the women in the previous books have adored him, looking at him as a younger brother so I just knew his book would be awesome. Vinnie had a rough childhood, growing up in the foster care system and never being adopted, he felt like no one ever wanted him and that he would never have a family. When his uncle, the Wind Dragons old President, finds out about Vinnie he brings him to club where Vinnie finally finds the family he has always wanted. Shayla is in hiding after her father tries to cheat some very crooked mafia guys. With her father now in prison it is up to her cousin Talon, president of the Wild Men MC, to protect her. When Talon calls in a marker owed to him by Vinnie with the Wind Dragons Shayla assumes she is going to get just another guard who will ignore her and just piss her off. She wasn't expecting a dangerous and sexy biker to protect her. Vinnie is sure Shayla is just another spoiled, bratty rich girl and he can't wait to get this assignment over with. Vinnie and Shayla's relationship is tense at first, with both of them making assumptions about the other without giving each other a chance. The more time the spend with each other they find themselves growing to like each other as both friends and in a more sexual way. When Shayla's location is leaked Vinnie knows he can't just leave her with another bodyguard who will do a half ass job protecting her so he does the only thing he can think of, he takes her home to his clubhouse where he claims her as his old lady. Vinnie and Shayla had such a great connection and relationship throughout this book. It was so nice to read about two people just clicking so well together. Like all good romance books the couple do face their own set of obstacles and drama but the love the find in each other helps pull them through it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good MC romance. I received an eARC of this book compliments of the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

    Wolf's mate

Although I found this book enjoyable I did find it a bit tame for a Mc book and the original problem of shay being hunted seemed to be solved too fast and too easy and a Mac working with the feds I don't know about that!

    3.25 stars--fated tale

3.25 star---WOLF’S MATE is the fifth installment in Chantal Fernando’s contemporary, adult WIND DRAGONS erotic, romance, MC series focusing on the men and women of the Wind Dragons MC. This is club member Vinnie aka ‘Wolf’, and Shayla Anderson’s story line. WOLF’S MATE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Told from dual first person perspectives (Vinnie and Shayla) WOLF’S MATE follows the building relationship between Vinnie and Shayla. Vinnie has been assigned to ‘babysit’ Shayla Anderson. Shayla is the younger cousin to Wild Men’s MC president Talon, and a woman targeted by the Mafia and the FBI. Shayla’s father is an accountant and is currently in prison for money laundering and fraud. Our heroine is suspected of knowing where her father hid some important information, and her life is to be forfeited for what she may or may not know. Enter Vinnie aka Wolf of the Wind Dragon MC, the man whose marker has been called in by Talon, and the man who would fall in love with our story line heroine. Shayla is first introduced to the reader as a pampered princess; a spoiled young woman with attitude to spare but in reality she is a woman who has been caught up in a world she knows nothing about. Vinnie comes into the story on the offensive as it pertains to our story line heroine, not willing to give her the benefit of the doubt believing the rumors he has heard about the woman with whom he will fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive. Several of the previous couples and story line characters play secondary and supporting roles including the wives, girlfriends and ‘old ladies’ of a number of Wind Dragon MC members. These interactions are playful and fun; Faye is a force unto herself when she is determined to ferret out information and gossip about the newest member to join their Club. WOLF’S MATE is a slower building story line than previous installments in the series. The focus of the premise is keeping Shayla Anderson safe and out of harm’s way but in reality the ‘conflict’ barely scratches the surface of the story and the action is limited to behind the scenes. There is no interaction between Shayla and those wanting to destroy her life; for all intents and purposes the story focused on the relationship between our leading couple, and everything else, including the threats against the story line heroine became background noise and little else. The action and any potential chaos are missing; the conflict resolution, like most of the action, is behind the scenes, and the reader learns what happens ‘after the fact’. WOLF’S MATE is a fated tale about two people brought together by circumstance and a debt owed. The premise is a water-downed look at the world of the MC and because so much of the action takes place ‘off camera’ and ‘behind the scenes’ I had a difficult time accepting that the threats against Shayla were real or imagined. The characters are an eclectic mix of fun, dynamic and passionate; the romance is intimate and intense.
