    Perfect

I thoroughly enjoyed. Rather I must say that it was irresistible to put it aside after I started reading until I finished.

    It's okay

Even though the story is relatively well-crafted, I found the characters rather shallow and never really got sucked into the story. It was a fun steampunk-ish story story, it just dragged out a bit and took me months to finish.

Yup, a good book to spend some time reading.

No complaints about reading this book. It was quite pleasant to spend some time with it. Probably will read other books in the series.

I love the Steampunk aspects of this book. It was a very engaging read. Highly recommend interested in mystery and twists

    A strong series opener

An interesting and involving plot with a well-written relationship between the central pairing. This starts off looking like a Sherlock Holmes and Watson rip-off but is shown to be more balanced as the story advances. One or two jarring typos, a couple of confusing uses of "he" and some abrupt scene transitions detract from the story and it seems a little incongruous that the author felt the need to set the piece in a fictional Kingdom when the feel of the setting seems clearly like a fantasy alt-history early Victorian Britain. But otherwise a strong start to the series.
