Worth the Risk was a sweet single dad novel. This story is the third book in the series and it's about the last Malone brother Grayson and Sidney the spoil rich girl from high school who reminds him of his ex. These two were as different as chalk and cheese. Grayson was the family oriented single dad with a chip on his shoulder. I loved his relationship with his son but he had alot of baggage to work out regarding his son's mother. Sidney vying for the job of her life, takes the job in Sunnyville to prove to her father that she can do the job and save the magazine. She had her city life and had no interest in family. And then there was Grayson's son Luke who for me stole every scene he was in in this novel. I loved him so much. This story was emotional, heart-warming, humorous and sexy. It was a bit of a slow burn as Grayson did not warm up to her at first even though Luke did. I enjoyed this novel, apart from the romance, Grayson's brothers were all here and had me laughing throughout the novel. This was a fantastic read and I would highly recommend it. **I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.**

  • Grayson is DEFINITELY Worth The Risk!

Wow…I’m not even sure I can find the words to write a proper review. Is there something larger than a grand slam? A touchdown? A slam dunk? Because whatever that is, K. Bromberg far exceeded it! Worth the Risk was heartfelt, passionate, and angsty in all the best ways possible. The interconnected standalone made butterflies fly in my stomach, had me laughing out loud, and crying crocodile tears by the end. The characters were authentic with writing so vivid that it felt like the entire story was playing out before my very eyes. If you stop reading here and take nothing else away from this review, trust me when I say that Worth the Risk is a MUST read – 100% worth the risk on this author! 😉 “There’s no anger. There’s no retribution. There’s just my need to connect with someone—with her. There’s my need to feel like a man she wants rather than a man to fix her problems.” From what I had gathered about Grayson Malone in his brothers’ books, I knew that this story was going to rip me apart and hit me hard. As a single dad, he had always been so protective of his son and that shone brighter than ever in Worth the Risk. Even if I didn’t previously have a crush on him, there was just no way that I could have walked away from this book not utterly smitten with him, and I have a feeling readers all over will be feeling the same. Even though he could be beyond stubborn at times, and I may have wanted to smack some hardcore sense into him, there was something endearing about his mentality. Though it was painful at times to witness, it also felt authentic given the degree to which he had been burned. There was also something I instantly loved about Sidney. Though she initially came off as a bit of a princess, I could sense that there was something deeper to her personality. She was a loyal friend and dedicated to reaching her goals. Watching her transform throughout this novel was definitely a nice surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed. Together, these two characters could not have been more different. Yet, something about them just worked. Even in their moments of hateful banter, I was secretly rooting for them. They had their ups and their downs, but I wouldn’t have traded that journey for anything. “People change. Minds change. Sometimes it takes longer for a heart to forget what was done to it in the past.” I swear that Bromberg gets better and better with each new book she publishes. Worth the Risk had a little bit of everything that you could want – a slow burning romance set in a small town with a hot, single dad who can’t stand the heroine and isn’t afraid to show it. My stomach was in knots for a good portion of this romance until it exploded in butterflies. Naturally, the writing then took me on a rollercoaster ride that I never wanted to press the brakes on. She has a way of sucking you into the worlds she builds and I can’t ever get enough!

  • Sweetly sexy

Wow. When I read a K. Bromberg book I expect to read something hot and steamy, but I also expect to go on an emotional journey. Worth the Risk was all that and more. This book made me smile, had me shaking my head in frustration and moved me to tears. I absolutely loved this book. I'll be honest, when I started the book I didn't know what quite to make of Sidney. She was a character who on the surface I couldn't quite relate to...and that lasted for all of a chapter. Sidney is smart, driven, focused and so when she's forced to take a bit of a detour to get to her end goal she's thrown a bit. Watching her discover things about herself she never expected, seeing her grow throughout the book was so satisfying to me. I was definitely a big cheerleader for her and Gray. Grayson Malone....holy hell. He's the third Malone brother this author has written about, but he absolutely stands on his own if you haven't read Cuffed and Combust. That being said, go read them! You'll love them. But back to Gray. Holy hotness. This sexy man is broken, guarded and an incredible single dad. I loved his protectiveness even if it did make me want to shake him in frustration at times. Watching him fall was beautiful. There's definitely chemistry and attraction between these two, even when they don't want it to be there. There are some issues from their past that need to be dealt with, sure, but once these two come together? Watch out. These scenes were hot enough at times to make me think my kindle was going to melt. Their road wasn't always easy, but I loved each twist and turn. I don't feel I can review this without writing about Luke. It's hard when an author writes a book with a single parent, balancing the child as a character and such. I was never worried about that with this author. Luke is adorable. Sweet, lovable and completely authentic and realistic. I fell in love with him from the start. The supporting characters here are fun. They had me laughing and giggling. There is one character who I intensely dislike; I hated seeing her name on the page, but she was necessary. The pacing of the book moved well and the writing was strong. This book really struck all the chords in me. I laughed, I cried and I fell so hard for Luke and Grayson. This was another fabulous read from this Author, further showing why she's an automatic one click author for me. I loved this book and would absolutely recommend it.

  • Wonderful

Grayson Malone is the 3rd of the Malone brothers and while you don't need to have read the others, it's great to get glimpses of him in the previous books and get to know him in this one. Sidney is a strong, compelling female character and you need that to balance with Gray, the man and father he is. I love that she was willing to go after what she wanted and not be afraid of a challenge. I loved the resolution that allowed her to stay and them to stay together. I enjoyed this title and I recommend it.

  • Loved it!

"She tastes like heaven and hell. Like want and need. Like deception and desire." Worth The Risk was worth every explosive page. I am completely hooked on Grayson and Sidney! Everything about this book and it's characters I did not see coming. This story has each page packed full of angst and raw emotion. The plot was unique and stands out from other stories I have read. I loved the enemies to lovers vibe I got from this story. It's a slow burn that had me squirming in my seat. The chemistry between characters was down right explosive. It sizzles from your kindle and consumes you. This is a true story of growth and healing. Both characters had so much to learn not just about life but themselves. I loved how the author takes you on emotional ride laced with heartache, healing, and taking chances. I could NOT be more in love with that ending. It was literally EVERYTHING. It left my heart absolutely fuzzy with feels! As with all the others Malone Brothers Grayson's story did not disappoint. Sidney's character was a spit fire who thought she knew what she wanted. She was easy to love but stubborn to the bone. While at the same time compassionate and vulnerable. I loved watching her character develop and grow! She was exactly the heroine this story needed. Grayson was nothing like I expected. He was intense. He was consuming. He was unattainable. He had you angry one minute and swooning the next. He tugged at your with his vulnerability and past demons. While admiring him for raising a son as wonderful as Luke. Luke completely stole the show for me this book. Some of the things that came out of his mouth had me laughing on the verge of tears. He was so charming and so much like his Dad. That little boy melted my heart many times. He also broke my heart many times with his vulnerability regarding his absent Mom. *4&1/2 STARS* Well earned for a uniquely captivating story, with complex characters that keeps you entranced from start to finish. *I voluntarily read a advanced copy!*
