  • Loved it

I didn't know what to expect from a PNR from Willow Winters. But being Willow, of course she nailed it!! I loved it!! The 2 girls, Lizzie and Grace had such a strong friendship and bond, so I was pleased that they went on to their new life together - not leaving the other one behind. Looking forward to reading book 2 and finding out more about the wolves history and also Lizzie and Grace's history too.

  • Need more!!!

I have to say Paranormal Romance is not something I usually read, but because Willow is amazing and I love all her other books, of course I was going to give this book a go! Well, Willow blew this book out of the water, it has definitely caught my attention and I can't wait to read this saga that she has created! I enjoyed the storyline and the characters and I am very intrigued by what could happen next. I feel like there is so much more for me to find out and experience that I wish I could have the next book, Gentle Scars, now so that I can get more answers! Although, I cannot compare this book to other books in this genre, if you have never read them before and are unsure if they are your thing, I'd say give this one a shot, not only because anything Willow writes you'll devour, but maybe you'll find a new genre that you like! I'll be sitting here intrigued and waiting for more!

  • Delicious

For an introduction to the paranormal genre of books, it was an amazing one. It certainly had all the aspects from regular romance novels that I like, but it was something about the paranormal feature that really made the whole book enticing. Winters always a does a phenomenal job at writing the chemistry between the main romantic pairing, and this book is most definitely no exception. For a shortish novel, she really does a great job at quickly getting you into the atmosphere of the setting. It was overall such a great read that I’m sure that I’ll read it again sometime soon! It definitely deserves more than a 5/5 star rating!

  • Big yes to this new PNR series!

Grace and Elizabeth (Lizzie) are best friends living together and working to earn their way for college while working at the bookstore. They live in the quiet town of Shadow Falls, and all is normal...or so it seems. Each year, their town organizes an event called the "offering." This ceremony stems from a treaty formed between mortals and werewolves to keeps the town safe. During the "offering," a commotion separated Grace and Lizzie. In the commotion, Grace and Lizzies' stories ran simultaneously with each of their "captors." The stories run with multi-POVs, so readers get to catch up on what is going on faster. The first part is between Grace and Devin, while the other is with Lizzie, Dom, and Caleb. Even with their individual stories, the book connects nicely as Grace and Lizzie realize how they will have to fit into the werewolf pack. The first of the stories happening was Grace and Devin's story. Their first encounter was the steamy, hot! I was sucked into their connection immediately as Grace explains everything she was going through in his presence. She had a hard time realizing that she was one of the chosen offerings to the werewolves. Grace is a human and not anything special, so her knowledge about them is limited. It was a shock to her when she learned about the town's mystical side and where werewolves stand. Grace is unable to explain the strong connection she has with Devin. It took her a bit of time to rationalize what was going on. Grace had to open her mind to the special relationship she has with Devin. Will Grace be able to accept her new fate in the werewolf pack? The second story is Lizzie, Dominik ("Dom"), and Caleb's. Their story interweaves each other in an unusual coincidence that goes back to Dom's parents. The pace is slower than Grace/Devin's because there were more things to take in, mainly due to Lizzie's childhood background. Dom and Caleb's connection to Lizzie was strong, and yet, compared to Grace, Lizzie could not even feel a flicker, which puzzled everyone. Before Lizzie met Grace, her story is all about escaping the life that she was born into and was unfortunate to witness at a young age. Her story is dark and sad. It brings about abuse that may trigger, so count this as a warning. But do not let this hinder you from reading her story because Lizzie's past is only a small one compared to the life she would have within the pack. She keeps her true identity from Grace in the hopes of forgetting her past and live a normal life. Will Caleb and Dom help Lizzie realize her destiny in the pack, or will she reject it and fall further into her dark place? Overall, I liked the directly Wounded Kiss was taking me. The plot has a gripping story that talks about survival, fated connection, and redemption. It captures the imagination as early as the start of the chapter. It brings readers into the forefront of the challenges of mortals and werewolves coexisting in the hopes of survival and, eventually, forever mates. The book may be short since it's a short novella and is part series, To Be Claimed. Nonetheless, this book was a lot to take in as it lays out the ground-work for bigger things in the coming books. There were background flashbacks, steamy scenes (a must!), and more paranormal sharing that readers will greedily gobble up!

  • new world

This is a fun start to a new series from Willow Winters Fair warning you might not be used to her writing paranormal Romance, if you love her writing Style it does not matter what category the read is in This is technically a two-in-one book about two different females’ stories that are best friends. Who had not had the most perfect life’s per se, they both had harsh life growing up once they found each other they became Fast Friends! Now their life will be set on journey neither one would have suspected Due to the town’s peace treaty, the town gets protection from vampires, witches & other shifters every year Shadow Falls prepares an offering. All women between 19-21 have to participate. It is all part of the town’s treaty with the shifters. This will be Grace & Lizzie’s first year Grace is chosen by the Alpha, while Lizie is chosen not by one, but by two betas. Caleb & Dom, are both her mates There are so many difference things that I enjoy about this read, but here are A few things that I really enjoyed the most about this Read is the fact that we have a touch of everything between the fact of we have alpha male another male that has a dark side to him another male that has passionate side to him You’ll also find that one female that has a strong will to her and another one that is a deep-rooted secret I’ll leave you with that, but I’ll tell you this, I truly enjoyed this book, I liked the idea of this new world & the characters that W Winter has created… of course I love pure thought of being introduced to vampires, witches & other shifters in future books.
