    Loving Kel!

As a fan of both Shalvis’ Animal Magnetism and Heartbreaker Bay series, I as xtra excited to have characters from each overlap into one story. While I love Kel and remember him vividly, Ivy was someone who didn’t make quite the same impression. As she didn’t have a big role in the previous books, I had to learn to like her on her own merits, not as a main part of the gang. I did definitely like this spunky woman, but she didn’t have the humor I thought Kel needed to pull him out from behind his walls. Evidently, I needed the humor and not him! I think family dysfunction was a big common denominator or these two, but Ivy’s walls were even a bigger mountain for Kel to climb than vice versa. I’ve never read a Jill Shalvis novel that I didn’t like, she’s an auto read for me and has been for years. And while I felt Wrapped Up In You didn’t have as much of her trademark humor, it still was filled with heart, and that’s more than good enough for me!

A heartfelt, read in one sitting romance

I was beyond excited to see that Kel was going to be featured in Wrapped Up in You. I remember him from the Animal Magnetism series and was so happy to hear he was going to be the main love interest in Wrapped Up in You. I absolutely loved Ivy. She's bit of tough nut, continuously moving from place to place and never settling down, but you can tell that she wants to. The awesome people of Heartbreaker Bay are not letting her go easily. They encourage her to open up, to be a part of their family. Ivy, of course, resists whole lot, but they wear her down. Ivy keeps a lot of things close to her chest and also has a tendency to lie about her family. On one hand, it's not cool, but on the other hand I get it. Ivy's family doesn't have the most stellar reputation and she doesn't want people to know about it. However, Ivy does come to the realization that they are true friends and won't judge her for it. I loved Kel and Ivy together. Kel worked to push her boundaries and help her to see her true potential. He was a tad frustrating at time (what male isn't) but had a good heart. My only issue with Wrapped Up in You is a small one. The plot involving Ivy's brother added to the story, but I felt like it got wrapped up super quick at the end, I wish there had been a little more there. As always, Jill Shalvis comes through with a heartfelt book that was impossible to put down. A one sitting read for sure!

Absolutely loved this sweet, beautiful romance!

Wrapped Up in You by Jill Shalvis, the eighth book in the author’s Heartbreaker Bay series for Avon Books, is just as fun and delightful as you’d expect. Though the story takes place in San Francisco, the small subset of Heartbreaker Bay, and its many close-knit citizens, gives this book—and series—a beautiful small-town feel. Everything from Ivy’s taco truck and morning kickboxing classes to a few group outings and Kel’s security consulting on his cousin’s new apartment building feels as if it could take place at any location in America. However, any long-time romance reader will know the story is set right where it needs to be, in a town we’ve never been to but can’t wait to visit again and again. The word addictive often comes to mind when reading one of Shalvis’s Heartbreaker Bay books because though they take place in the same general location, they always feel fresh and new, and the characters always give readers a glimpse into their own impression of the town and its many citizens. It’s fun, sometimes quirky, and always a wonderfully written, expertly crafted romance tale where two people, despite the odds, find a way to connect and fall in love. Ivy is a fiercely independent yet lonely woman, though she has no intention of letting anyone else know about it. Thanks to a rocky past, she struggles not to get too close to people for fear of being disappointed, and Kel, well, he understands that more than anyone. It’s never easy to learn how to trust after being let down and betrayed by those you let in, but when you find someone who understands your fears and insecurities…pure magic can happen. And Wrapped Up in You by Jill Shalvis is all the proof you need to know that love is possible and magic can happen just when you least expect for it to… Absolutely loved this sweet, beautiful romance!

    Contemporary Romance

Wrapped Up In You by Jill Shalvis Heartbreaker Bay #8 Ivy Snow and Kel O’Donnell are an unlikely couple with Kel valuing honesty above just about anything while Ivy willingly hides her past behind some whopping fibs. The way they meet is spicier than Kel’s tastebuds would usually prefer as Ivy offers him a taco from her taco truck...but what a delightful way to meet! As book eight in the series one might think there are no more stories to be told but that is definitely NOT true as I still need to hear how more than one character meets their match through a coin tossed in the magic fountain! What I liked: * Ivy – what a strong, independent and caring woman she is! To have gone through all she did and come out so well is a major statement about her character and coping skills * Kel – a book boyfriend worthy of Ivy with his calm, steady and ability to slow things down and get to the bottom of things. * Family – there is so much of it in this series whether truly related by blood or chosen by the group. They are thre for one another no matter what. * Learning what Kel learned when he finally talked to his mother * The ability of people to make changes, grow and become better * Heartbreaker Bay – what a wonderful place it would be to live * The smile it put on my face while reading, at the end and now a day later What I didn’t like: * Hmm...there were some criminals that were dislike-worthy and one person I was angry with but he sort of redeemed himself so...in fact...there wasn’t really anything I disliked about this book because the bad had to happen for the good to take place. Did I like this book? Definitely! Will I read more in this series and by this author? Without a doubt! Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars

    Taking a Chance

Jill never disappoints. I loved Wrapped Up in You. Ivy has never had anyone have her back when she needs it most and Kel is afraid to try. Flames smoulder but can they catch. Will they take a change on each other and is it worth the risk.
