    Fun read

Lots of fun in this story loosely related to the Nocturne Falls universe stories by Kristen Painter.

    Sweet and silly

This book is a sweet, tongue-in-cheek romance. It is sometimes silly/corny but it is a good story. I didn’t like the mystery part as much as the reader is left without any real clues. It is certainly worth a few hours to escape from your worries. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

    Do you have Aliens?

Roarke sets the stage for an entertaining story about aliens who are living on earth, and in plain site. There is a large truck stop call the Big Bang Truck Stop located right outside of the small town of Alienn Arkansas. In a ten mile circle there is no cell service, suspicious right? The complex is run by Diesel Grey , also known as the Fearless Leader. The story begins as Juliana Masters, a communication graduate in search of her first story drives to Alienn to find out if the rumours of aliens living there are true. Everything is alien themed complete with a water tower flying saucer and many pictures of Maxwell the Martian. When she arrives she is directed to the manager, Diesel. There is an instant unbelievably strong attraction and they are instantly drawn together. Which for Diesel is a huge concern since she is human and technically off limits. She asks her questions but they are defected by him. Within a few minutes he is kissing her, and it is pure magic for both of them. He goes to walk her to her car and she sees something unexplainable. Right away she is zapped with a memory eraser. Then the fun begins. Roarke weaves a love story filled with great characters, unexpected twists of both human and extraterrestrial kind, trouble with the alien space port and kooky characters that add humour and drama. It is a fun tale that will make you smile. It has good flow and keeps the reader interested. If you like cozy mysteries and romances with a paranormal flare you will enjoy this book. I am going to enjoy the next in the series if it is anything like this one., I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    Wonderful New Series !!!

At the Big Bang Truck Stop in Alienn Arkansas, Diesel Grey was trying to convince his stubborn Aunt Dixie that a wet T-shirt contest fundraiser at the old folks’ home to promote the Big Bang Truck Stop was a very bad idea on so many levels and he could not allow it. That was not an image he saw as positive for their town nor the truck stop whose logo she intended to be on the T-shirts. Three other elderly ladies started booing and hissing him from the doorway of his office for vetoing their plan. His brother, Axel, was the next one in the door with a message. Their home planet, Alpha-Prime, had awarded them the contract to be a galactic way station for prisoners on their way to “the big house”. Axel appreciated the income it would provide, but Diesel had doubts about breaking the news to the council. The elder council of retired aliens who lived there were stuck in the old ways and wanted everything to stay the same. They also insisted the Earthlings not be told they lived among aliens. Diesel just wanted progressive changes, but the elders protested if there was a change in the gelatin flavor at the Café! He was not eager to tell them about the new contract. Signing the contract gave them 10 years of security where their planet would not shut them down on a whim, so he signed and dreaded telling the council later. Diesel’s assistant came running in with panic in her eyes to tell him there was a human who wanted to talk to him! Her name is Juliana Masters, but what disturbed his assistant was that she could be big trouble for them. Nova had read the woman’s mind and she was there with questions about the rumors that aliens lived here! Juliana was writing an article for a popular travel magazine intending to prove or debunk an alien rumor, which they hoped to turn into a book contract. It amused her that their nametags all said “Welcome, Earthling!” And the manager’s office had a sign that said “Fearless Leader”. Even the water tower was painted as a flying saucer with a picture of a Martian hanging on for his life – with a goofy grin, of course. The receptionist stared at her so long that she thought she was being mind-probed! It was also peculiar that her cell phone had no service in a 10-mile radius of town! Very odd. To her surprise, a tall, handsome man came out to greet her. As they shook hands, she felt an electric spark. He evidently noticed as well since his eyes darted to their hands. He told her that when the town was formed by a woman named Alienne, the paperwork misnamed the town as “Alienn” when the ‘e’ got dropped. So the story of the town name is as simple as that, he told her. There are no aliens, the name was just a typo or mistake from its inception and the Maxwell the Martian theme is a convenient marketing tool for selling fuel, snacks and sundries. Nothing more nefarious than that. He was hoping not to deal with a publicity attack or the appearance of paparazzi. But when she asked him about the Boogieman Affair, which no outsiders were supposed to have known about, he was startled but told her only that it was a gas leak. He tried reading her mind to see what she knew, but all she was thinking was “kiss me, kiss me, kiss me”. So he did – until Axel interrupted them and urged Diesel into the office to talk to him. She was seriously feeling that this might actually be love she was feeling! His kiss was amazing! As Diesel led her outside, the worst thing happened. The doors to their basement area hiding all things alien was left wide open. And an alien visitor like a man on the bottom and a sea creature on top, complete with eight tentacles floating around his body, stared at them. Was their secret now exposed? How would Diesel explain this? He wouldn’t want to wipe the memories of the woman he wanted to start dating! This was a fun-filled, wonderful book!!! Those who read the Nocturne Falls series will feel right at home with this one. The characters are real individuals and totally likable. The story line is perfect and the reader can see how this will be a series to follow eagerly! You will definitely need to grab your copy and find out how Diesel will explain this away! And you’ll find many more things coming that you won’t want to miss! Prepare yourself for laughter, love, and fun!
