    Entertaining, but Not My Favorite

This was an entertaining enemies to lovers and forced proximity romance. I enjoyed Carey, James, and the crazy shenanigans by the Tripps, but unfortunately, I didn't love it. It took a bit for me to feel invested in the story and characters, and by the time I really felt anything, the book was more than halfway over. Part of that is due to the way the book is formatted. The tweets, police transcripts/interviews, and book excerpts really took me out of the story at times as I tried to piece everything together. Those parts of the book ended up confusing me more than anything. The chemistry between James and Carey also left me wanting. I didn't feel much build up between them and that playful banter and ribbing was missing. Things seemed to change so abruptly between them that I was afraid I missed a chapter. I did love them together though and wish more of the book had been spent about their budding relationship, instead of the implosion of Melly and Rusty's marriage. I really liked how attentive and sweet James was. He seemed to really see Carey for who she was and I think that's why the miscommunication drama later on didn't work for me. The book wrapped up quickly, but I liked the steps that Carey took to really stand on her own. I also appreciated the care that Christina Lauren took in discussing and highlighting dystonia. It was refreshing to read about a heroine with this condition and also very informative. Overall, this was an entertaining story, but I didn't love it as much as I hoped. *I voluntarily read an advance review copy of this book*

    Enjoyable

I liked this book. The story was a entertaining blend romance, reality, humor and emotions. Carey and James were interesting characters and I thought quite relatable. I found the chemistry between this couple good and I liked how they originally didn't like each other but then that whole enemy of my enemy (or in this case my enemy that has to put up with the same difficult bosses that are annoying) is my friend works it's magic and their relationship moves in a different direction. A fun read that is a mad-cap romantic romp. This is my elective, candid review.

    Honey, DO read this book!

I'm a huge fan of Christina Lauren and I was very excited to get my hands on this book. There's something about this duo that always keeps me coming back for more. This book put me through the gauntlet, emotionally. It definitely left me smiling and satisfied. I really enjoyed meeting Carey and James through this book. I loved the way they danced around each other, the banter that they had. I loved that Melissa and Rusty actually brought them closer together instead of pushing them apart. I believed in Carey and James; I liked them individually as well as a couple. Their behaviors just seemed so genuine. These two are in a unique situation and I really loved watching it unfold. I love the depth Christina Lauren's writing. When I read their books I literally fall into the story. The pacing of this book was great, the story really flowed for me. I enjoyed the supporting characters here-and I personally was amused to see my name used in a book (a first for me!). This is a book I can easily see being turned into a movie! I didn't want to put this book down, and actually read it in one sitting. I didn't want it to end, but I love the way that it did. It felt authentic. I loved this story, from start to finish, and would absolutely recommend it.

    DIY cozy romance

A light romance featuring a TV decorating show's hosts and support staff. I don't want to reveal the plot and spoil your fun so I won't reveal the details here. A story that unfolds quickly, written by two authors who compliment each other's skills. A H.E.A. ending left a smile lingering. I volunteered to read an ARC from Galley Books through Net Galley.

    Honey DON’T List

“... more than just seen, I feel visible for the first time in maybe forever” I’ll be honest if took me a few pages to engage in this read. Once I did....I couldn’t put it down. Wasn’t sure if it was the book or just things going on in life that were distraction me. I usually devour these authors books from the start. Glad I kept with it ~or I’d have missed out on a great story. “...focus on making plans rather than beating myself up about the past—and to start finding a way to make each of them happen.” So many life lessons intertwined with humor, loyalty, frustration, self discovery, self worth, acceptance, beginnings and endings. I wish we could get a glimpse of a few years down the road to see where everyone’s journey takes them (hint, hint). “Contentment comes in a trickle, though. It’s like a faucet dripping; slowly, my bucket is filling.”
