Humourous. Witty. I couldn't put it down!

How do you cope with being a marriage celebrant when your own marriage is in tatters? Viv is faced with this dilemma. Ten weddings (throw in a funeral for good measure) and she can quit. Can't be that hard, can it? At this point I wish to declare that I know Susan Murphy personally. However, the following review is submitted as a self-proclaimed bookworm who reads for enjoyment and escapism from her real life. This book delivers on both counts. Susan Murphy crafts a fast paced, witty romp through the peaks and troughs of emotion as Viv launches headlong into unknown waters. Her characterisations of Viv and the other people swept up in her wake may seem over-the-top to some readers, but I personally know of people who fit those profiles. Maybe I've had more life experience than some, but the saying "There's always one in every bunch" comes to mind. I laughed, cringed, chortled, secretly wished I'd said or done that, guffawed and cried my way through the book as I journeyed with Viv and her crazy cohorts. Viv's exploits literally made me laugh out loud, to the point that I couldn't breathe. But it's not all laughs along the way. Viv and her sisters face more than one real life tragedy with the strength and love of family and true friends. Murphy's book was hard to put down - sleep and 'duty calling' prevented me from finishing it in one sitting. There is non-stop action in one form or another, which adds to the sense that Viv's normally scheduled and orderly life has spiralled out of her control. Murphy manages to reign in the mayhem nicely at the end, providing the reader with a satisfying and upbeat ending to this chapter of Viv's life. I was left wanting to know "What happens next?" so I'm hoping there's a sequel in the works. But, don't be lulled into thinking you know how it's going to end. There are twists and turns aplenty to keep the reader guessing. Congratulations on your inaugural book Susan Murphy. You're definitely an author worth following.

At first I thought it was a bit silly but when i got into it I quite enjoyed it. It felt like it was written by an amateur and all the swearing was not necessary.
