  • Engrossing Read

LITTLE DISASTERS is an engrossing book filled with rich character dynamics and complicated family relationships. The plot is compelling, the characters are realistic, and the ending proved satisfying. Most of all I appreciated the peek into the hardships of motherhood. A worthy read for women's fiction fans. Disclosure: I received a free, uncorrected proof of this book.

  • Little Disasters

Little Disasters is the latest book by Sarah Vaughan. I want to thank Atria Books and NetGalley for an early copy to review. Ms Vaughan tells the story with different points of view and back and forth in time. Little Disasters certainly shows the reader a lot of things that shouldn't be done. There will come a time when this book is impossible to put down.

  • Emotional roller coaster

This book nearly ripped my heart out. It is an intensely emotional story of a group of mothers who become friends during prenatal classes. Each of them are different in lifestyle, personality and relationships yet they bond over the children. Jess and Liz are the two main characters and the author did an amazing job building them into realistic mothers and women. I think any mother could find similarities with them and could feel for them as much as I did. This book is so full of raw emotion it takes hold of you and won’t let you go. To say I was heartbroken while reading this does not even touch how I felt. The author has an uncanny knack of making these women’s characters fit every and any mother that might exist while keeping them real. These characters physical appearance may have been mentioned but it wasn’t made made into an important trait like many novels do. They were real, they were deeply flawed and they craved the one thing all of us women crave....another woman that can truly understand as and love us as we are. Adding the suspense and twists to the story only made it better. This is one of the best books o have read this year and I can find no fault with it. Thank you to NetGalley, Simon and Schuster Canada and the author Sarah Vaughn for the pleasure of reading this ARC. This will be a best seller.

  • What compels a person to lie?

Little Disasters by Sarah Vaughan. I enjoyed this book! It moved quickly and the story was well written. Jess is a stay at home mother of three children. She seems to have it together... The house, the handsome husband, the kids. What seems like the perfect life, isn't. Jess is struggling and doesn't tell anyone. Until one night when her youngest child, Betsey gets hurt while at home and Jess delays taking her to the hospital. How did Betsey get hurt and who did it, is the main point of the story, but as with any story you what happens to this little girl affects many people and many lives. This story is told from alternating points of view as well as flashbacks in time. I thought it was a unique way of telling a story and it made for a quick read. 4⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Thank you to Netgalley, Atria Books and Sarah Vaughan for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

  • Very intriguing

I couldn't put this down from the beginning I picked it up. And drew me in from the very beginning. A lot of mothers go through postpartum depression and do unthinkable things as for the child getting hurt that was definitely an accident. I think this is a very well-written book that men and women can both read and understand and relate to many things happening in life since so many mental issues have become so apparent and open. I will pass this word of this book to many people because I think it is very good rating and very knowledgeable.
