A clinic on enemies to lovers romance

Ever since its release, Hassell's Sunset Park has been my first recommendation for readers looking for palpable chemistry. It’s what I compare the chemistry in other novels against. I’m certain Mature Content will now be my benchmark for the enemies to lovers trope because it excelled in all areas, especially those where many others fall short. There was actual disdain between Beau and Zane, it wasn’t faked or exaggerated to make a plot point and the authors described the animosity vividly enough that there was no mistaking it. I loved that those bad feelings between the two didn’t just magically disappear as soon as they hooked up either. The men’s conflicted emotions as the book progressed lent an honest quality to the plot that I’ve come to identify with this series and these authors. I liked both Zane and Beau and really liked how very different their personalities and experiences were. They were unique but relatable, and their histories were explained thoroughly so the reader could empathize with their reactions toward one another and the conflicts that arose. They both developed over the course of the book, but it was a gradual change that felt very authentic. The dialogue was fantastic, adding to the character development, interjecting humor, and offering up a good dose of dirty talk. While I still think Fast Connection had the best banter in this series, this was a very close second and it made for a really fun read. Then there’s the heat factor. Easily the hottest book of the Cyberlove series, Mature Content capitalizes on that combustible energy between enemies who are also opposites in many ways. While the scenes themselves were incredibly sexy (another thing I’ve come to expect from this author duo), it’s really the chemistry Hassell and Erickson developed between Beau and Zane throughout the book that made things explosive. And man, was it ever. As I understand it, Mature Content is tentatively the final standalone book of the series. Erickson and Hassell gave the series the perfect send-off, incorporating all the strengths of the other three books and creating a fantastic romance between interesting, unique characters. If you’re a fan of one or both of these authors, you won’t be disappointed. If you’re just looking for a good enemies to lovers book, this is it. *Reviewed for Alpha Book Club*

    So so good!

I have absolutely LOVED every installment of the Cyberlove Series by Megan Erickson and Santino Hassell. These two authors write together so flawlessly, and they draw me into the story so quickly I can't help but keep turning the pages until I'm up waaaay past my bedtime. What I loved about this book: ~The writing. ~ The characters. Beau and Zane are so real. I love that they're flawed and imperfect, but they grow throughout the story. ~ The chemistry. HOT AF!!! Man oh man, this book is HOTTTTT. From the hate sex, to the edging to someone getting tied up annnnnd then the trench coat scene. To witness perfectly coiffed Beau become this dominating sex god had all of my girly bits tingling. ~ Banter - gah! The back and forth was amusing and fun. ~ Did I mention hate sex? Okay, just making sure. I love watching these two fall in love. Thank you, Megan and Santino, for your amazing words. Bottom line: One click!! But start with Strong Signal because they are ALL so freaking good.
